Hey there, it's Kira again, and today I share an update of one of my older decks that is kinda one of my favourite decks i ever made considering my love for control decks, Makto Control. Someone was asking me a week ago if the deck is still viable and i thought "you know what, i think it should still be working in theory", and it sure did. I was only playing a
small sample size of 20 games, but i won 18 of them, so that seems good enough. This deck is maybe more straight forward than the decks i usually post since the
gameplan is kinda simple; we have primal
draw, we have
removal, we have
Inquisitor Makto. And that's honestly
all you need. If Makto isn't relevant enough use
your sites to buff him with
Korovyat Palace and
Dizo's Office to stabilize with them in the air. Eventually you will
grind out the resources of your opponent while you have an endless supply of cards to throw at them after their deck stops spinning.
Know Thy Enemy helps to find the Makto's after they revenge back into the deck and since the card really wants to you have units in the deck i added
Furious Magniventris too, card is just solid at stabilizing and makes KTE more consistent. Overall we run
7 aoe spells for t3,
Hailstorm over other options because i made the power base to hit 2 primal t3 for
Wisdom of the Elders already, so something like
Vara's Authority would make things just more awkward. Additionally we run
6 big board wipes, but keep in mind
Nothing Remains will voidbound your own Maktos so you really want to be smart in how to use them. You still run it tho because it's a 4 cost
Harsh Rule, like you really have to right?
Market is purely primal with
Jennev Merchant:
Afore-mentionened
Korovyat Palace to buff your cards, especially Makto with aegis and endurance berserk as a 9/9 is a nightmare for a lot of decks in itself and that's kinda the dream combo for the deck afterall.
Turn to Seed to permanently deal with any given unit.
Vision of Austerity for annoying relics like
Dinosaur Nest or
Tome of Horrors.
Dazzle when you either have to stall more or to stop something like
Subversion of Nature and finally
Mirror Image to potentially make another Makto, you also can just copy
Jennev Merchant again which honestly happens more often then you might imagine, since then you have 2 aegis units on board with potentially
Korovyat Palace in hand, so even if one of them dies to a relic weapon or killer unit you still have a target for
Withstand.
And that's mostly everything to say about the deck, I'll now only mention other options you could run as like 1-offs in the deck that might be nice to have but are also not necessary, so run them if you find the space for them or like the idea of playing them;
Subversion of Nature,
Eye of Winter,
Makto, Valorous Savior,
Massive Greatsword,
Crackling Bauble.
And that's it, I'll answer questions asap as always, and enjoy hearing the voicelines "run coward, you cannot hide", "there is no escape" and Makto's dying noises on a frequent bases. :P

Too slow. Perfect deck to lose
