A control deck that does a good job at handling aggro decks as well as going over the top of midrange decks. Plenty of life gain and board control. Try it out and have a blast. Get some Vara triggers with a revenged Makto or Alchemist.

Really having fun with this deck! Any room for Eilyn's Choice or Azindel's Gift? Not sure what would make the cut, but negating a spell or killing a big dude is pretty nice...and Azindel's just helps against slower games.
Azindels is a great sideboard option but it's too niche for the current meta. Most of the time you will die before you can cast it and it's really only a blow out against control decks. I would say Eilyns choice is a great card but you will find yourself tapping out a lot with this deck and you won't find a good time to hold up 3 power. If you wanted it in the main I'd cut the hammers but I think they are a stronger option. I haven't been severely affected by my opponents casting big spells like channel the tempest or parliament. I really like this exact 75 for now but it's something to consider if the meta is not so aggro forward.
Yea that makes sense! I've noticed one of the tournament decks was running a playset of Kothons too? Think it's worth dropping some of the early removal?
Kothon is much better in chalice than he is this deck. A lot of aggro decks run torch which isn't good for him. The best part about this deck is that every creature affects and is affected by vara. They can all come back and trigger vara. Kothon does neither of those things. Kothon also isn't great against the 2 biggest fast threats, argenport aspirant and Bartholo the seducer. I think this deck is better without kothon.

The extra lifegain has been helping and 3 storms has been good enough to slow down my opponents.
