Hey there, it's Kira and today we go on a mission, hopefully successful, to infiltrate the top of the ladder! This deck is a
valueoriented midrange deck with a
Ring of Glamour engine to not run out of cards, a common problem in some pure xenan decks, so we
splashed primal to embrace a slower gameplan. Notably we only run the actually
"good" stealth units (14 to be exact), and
don't flood the deck with questionable units to maybe get some
Ring of Glamour value. That means we run a couple other draw and control tools to survive long enough so the engine pays off eventually.
Torgov's Wares and
Honor of Claws help to find your combo pieces and
Send an Agent,
Banish and
Vara's Authority help you to survive. We even run
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker to max out the aegis hate, you might think this deck would love to run faceaegis too to protect the ring, but since we're only partially all-in on the strategy, it can act as distraction for your opponent so that they have to deal with it if the game goes longer. Like if they're in xenan too and they have to throw their
Banish on the ring, who stops
Azindel, Mastermind? Exactly. Powerbase is focused to get the Cylixes online eventually,
Seek Power helps out and makes sure you don't brick on powerscrew like ever. If you don't like it, add more stealth units or max out the
Honor of Claws, that being said if you cut them, then you might want to replace the seats too for something else. My approach was getting as much consistency in there as possible, with success.
Apart from that let's do a quick
breakdown of the valueoriented stealth units:
Hidden Crusader really useful in fast matchups where fire decks throw a
Torch on it and there's still something on board afterwards, super annoying for them.
Raniya, Never Caught to trade with early stuff like
Plunk Wumpkin and creating
Sabotage or
Thief's Pick, very flexible. As already mentioned
Azindel, Mastermind as our only big stealth unit, try to clear a path before you drop him,
Exploit,
Sabotage and
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker usually catch something that might disrupt him. And lastly
Jufi, Sprite Seer, only 2 because you only want to play her as 5 drop to get the dragons eyes, but i can see running more. If you happen to find one eye, the game can be over quickly because you bury them in card advantage.
Market: The Market also tries to be value oriented with
Grodov's Burden and
Xenan Temple, usually enough to outgrind some decks while interacting with the board a little bit,
Gnash, Desert Prince to deal with flier, because of our big antiaegis hate you can somewhat reliable even spin back
Champion of Cunning and
Icaria, the Liberator,
Saloon Massacre to have a aoe spell in the market if you're sufficiently behind, and finally as finisher
Silverblade Menace to burn them down late game.
Lastly a couple cards i tried but cut them eventually,
Subversion Slug was a fun card to mindgame people, but if they don't have an appropriate target to redirect their spell he's kinda pointless, maybe a market option?
Entratius, Beckoning i had as a 2 off for a while, but this deck is not particularily good to make him connect with your opponent, so he had to leave. Only with the
Thief's Pick from Raniya it was possible or when people don't expect him at all. In the market i also had
Azindel, Revealed, but again we're not good to connect with their face, but i leave it to you. Have fun experimenting!
And that's it, I'll answer questions asap as always, feedback is always welcome! Enjoy,
Your Kira :)) <3
