An actually good mono red deck, nice. I’ve been driving it through Diamond 1 and it’s killing it so far.

Volatile Grenadin seems fine.

Thanks. I think it's hard to mess up a list like this, really all you have to do is play all the best units on curve with the most relevant spells (burn and more units). At the start of this season I was trying to play a heavier build with maindeck Obliterates and a couple other things like Fire Symbols and Clodagh (stuff you don't need). Then I saw someone still using the Deputy and noticed it's still good. Overall I think the low to the ground version of this deck is by far the best, it's gonna win turn 5 or 6 on average or probably not at all in a long game. Too much face aegis around for Obliterates, but I still love the card so I threw one in.

I agree with your analysis. Clodagh and fire symbol are not where you want to be, too slow.

I was a bit surprised about how good this was (made it to Masters with this btw, thanks again!) maybe because the last mono red deck I played had too high of a curve. You need the one drops to get tempo on the format.

A rush deck is probably the best way to always get to Masters lol I think we make it hard on ourselves sometimes playing complicated stuff. My easiet Master trip ever was playing Skycrag Yetis onetime when no one else was using it, I was winning games stuck on two power

How’ve you been liking Patroller and Volatile Grenadin over Clodagh and Ankle Cutter? Is that because of Blightmoth and if so, has it made a difference? I’ve mostly found that Blightmoth is a big GG for mono fire regardless, but I’m curious.

Yep, you lose to blightmoth decks pretty hard, not every time, but mostly it's a hard counter. You would need a build maindecking Obliterates to have that much reach. I tried playing with Clodagh enough to realize she's just bad (imo). Her Plunder ability is super underwhelming and usually has no impact on the game. The 6 influence ability is very nice, but games are over way before that unless you maindeck Fire Symbol, which is pointless in this build because you're hampering your own deck not hitting undepleated power on curve every turn for units (or on turn 1). Her 8 influence ability has never happened in any game I've played. If you want to run a 3/1 for 2 power I would go with Ankle Cutter all day, it's way more on flavor to what's in the deck. The Volatile Grenadin has been surprisingly relevant in any build I've used it in, obviously it can't come out till turn 3 (in this build) where you can play it with a 1 drop, but it puts people in sticky situations and I've noticed most just take the 4 damage, which is a pretty insane upside. In an aggro mirror it can win the game, or on rare occasions it pops a face aegis for your other spells. I would run 4 if I was maindecking the Fire Symbol.

Yeah, the increase in Blightmoth decks is the main reason I stopped playing mono fire this month. I found at the time that Clodagh and Ankle Cutter were just nice for pushing more early damage than Patroller and Grenadin and could trade into other units more easily. Also Ankle Cutter was super nice against units like Rolant and SST, which were typically big problem 4 drops for mono fire. But if I were going to continue to play it now, I think this would likely be the way I would go. Not sure I would run deputy, but also not sure what I’d replace her with.

Well the way I see it you aren't gonna run into Blightmoth every single game and in all those other matchups you just run over people. I have this deck up to rank 25 after I just finished my session with it. I think I only lost once. For some reason people just can't deal with a Siege Train out swinging every turn, I have seen a complete lack of Turn To Seed currently. Deputy isn't as good after the slight nerf it took but I still see it snowball most games into a 3/1 or even a 4/1 and Plunder on turn 1 can be insanely useful (or later for Jekk), it's also a great trigger for Thunder of Wings. There is just nothing else in the 1 drop category as versatile. You can run the ticking grenadine or load up on more 2 drops, but I think loading up on 1 drops for the fast start is a better core.
