Hallelujah, it's raining frogs!
This deck is simply the most fun I've ever had playing Eternal. It's basically a janky pile of memes that plays like temporal-less temporal control (temporal could probably fit in the market but I don't own one and didn't feel like crafting it).
It performs reasonably well against decks that have given me issues in the past like Wisps (note: Wisps players don't like it when their
Weary Spitelings become
Frogs.)
The opponent's unit removal is largely useless (but they won't know it) - your units are largely there for utility (market, lifegain, memes) and you don't need them to win. The goal is either to burn them out, mill them out, or get them to rage quit.
The main targets for
Messenger Hawk are
Static Bolt and
Harsh Rule (or
Polymorph vs Wisps), although if the game is slow enough you might hit a
Brilliant Idea or
Channel the Tempest with it.
First pull from the market is almost always
Stronghold's Visage - recover from damage taken in the early game and use it to force opponents to over-extend into your mass removal.
The deck is inspired by the work of YouTube user "MTG Arena Original Decks" because Stronghold's Visage mimics his use of Magic's Fountain of Renewal.
Edit: Went back to 3
Rain of Frogs because it's so good against midrange / ramp / control; moved
Find the Way to main deck and
Excavate to market because of when each is usually useful to have.
Edit Again: more relic removal to combat
Azindel's Gift, more counters to combat control-heavy meta,
Duelist's Blade instead of
Auric Runehammer because face aegis can actually be really nice.
For wealthier individuals than me: there's probably a way to fit 3 more
Great Valley Smuggler, and you probably should find it. There may also be a way to trim the deck to 75, but the 90 mojo seems to be sort of working for me (in that I've beaten decks that none of my other decks could beat). Also I don't want it to turn into cookie-cutter temporal control because that's less fun.
