The plan is pretty simple. Play ramp units. Play good 5-cost cards (mainly
Triumphant Stranger) on turn 3 or 4.
The deck has some other value cards, an effective 8 copies of
Reunite which will usually draw
Triumphant Stranger but can sometimes get one-of strangers for Flying, Lifesteal, card advantage, or
Horus Traver to fix influence.
Exploit proactively defends against opponents removal or finishers.
Shavka's Stranger kills
Huntmaster Vikrum
If a hand has no ramp or other early plays, it's usually correct to redraw it.
If a hand has 3 or fewer factions of influence, redraw it.
If a hand is able to get 4 factions of influence it is borderline keepable, as reunite can draw Horus Traver and there are several cards to give one influence of your choice.
I am still tuning this list, but I think it is fun.
Here's some more changes that I'm making before my final push from D1 into masters with this deck:
-3x Combrei Adept for +1x Auralian Merchant and +2x Auralian Supplier. While Adept can give a power drop on the next turn, the influence requirements are less than ideal, and Supplier feels way better in this deck because by turn two we usually get both draws from it. Since we can't play more than 4 copies, I added a merchant.
-1x Strange Burglar for +1x Horus Traver. Several dozen games (from G3 to D1) saw me literally never grabbing Burglar, because we are usually playing on really low health, and getting lifesteal and then burglar just to sacrifice and exhaust a blocker feels like too much. Supplier can get us the card draw that this card offers without the downsides. Added Horus because I occasionally found myself wanting another one.
I also wanted to fit another Shavka's Stranger in this deck, but couldn't bring myself to cut a Dichro because it won me several games against the Inferno Phoenix deck that somehow draws a second Inferno Phoenix after I discard the first one every single game.
I agree that the current Market is somewhat awkward. I play time merchant because it is ramp, but a lot of good market cards are not time. If I had different merchants I would put cards like Mirror Image, Last Chance, Display of Ambition and Freeze Out in the market. Some of those cards like Mirror Image and Display of Ambition might even be decent in the main-deck.
I like Gnash as sometimes Triumphant Stranger can make lots of blockers but the opponent kills you with flying. I added Lumen Reclaimer because I was facing a lot of reanimator and wanted a way to shuffle away their void, but at 4 cost it can sometimes be too slow.
Twinning Ritual sounds fun though I worry it might be too slow. Removing Combrei Adept seems fair. The extra sigil often doesn't matter since you need other power cards to get the influence.
Shavka's Stranger has been a lot better than I expected. I thought it might be too expensive, but with Farm it is only 6 cost and it kills a lot of annoying units.
