this shimmerpack combo in Jennev colors is my first and current first into ranked on Eternal. It has its quirks, but despite being 3 colors,(red, gold, and blue) the deck has proven to be pretty efficient and consistent.
The effect of shimmerpack has reached ranked tops before, and hopefully it will again, by my doing, and yours if you care to try it out for yourself.
Below are explanations of why certain cards are run, and some strategies we have with them.
auralian infestation is an awesome little spell. For one gold influence, you get your choice of a deadly scorpion now, or two shifted scorpions for later. This tends to help us keep our Mana moving nicely, since we run a lot of banners, and shifted scorpions count towards having them come into play ready to use.
kimi, expedition guide plays very well with auralian infestation, buffing any shifted scorpions we have, and adding shifted explorers to fill up our board, which are also slightly buffed every time she attacks.
auralian stinger is a fun way to fill the board, and since we have quite a few cheap spells like torch and equivocate to move blockers out of the stinger's way, we tend to start getting more deadly scorpions for free, which is most satisfying when our opponent is casting draw spells, looking for answers to what we already have.
Swift refusal is the first card you should be pulling up from the market with this deck, especially if the opponent is blue or green. pristine light , harsh rule , hailstorm , lightning storm , and crystallize all mess us up pretty badly, so your first merchant should almost always grab this to stop your opponent from setting you back to square one.
