This deck is working really well for me in Masters Gauntlet. Defiance added a few good cards for the archetype,
Hojan, Crownbreaker is an excellent 2-drop for racing aggression and the AI will often take poor trades with it. A neat trick that I have used a few times is to
Vara's Favor targeting Hojan, then play the power which ramps and hits for a bunch of damage (it survives because it's a simultaneous trigger).
Hidden Road Smuggler is a huge boon to the archetype. Its main downside is the inability to runner Banner in the market. I run
Amethyst Waystone as an undepleted shadow source to be able to curve into
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker. I've been pretty happy overall with how the market has played. I do think there are a lot of options to consider there however.
The only other new card I'm running is a 2x
Warlock's Brew. This card has really impressed me as it can sweep Grenadins, Ptreiax Hatchlings, as well as function as early removal or a general combat trick. I would consider a third copy but no more than that.
Thanks to the power level of the new merchant and the additional lifesteal to the deck, we no longer need to run
Copperhall Bailiff in my opinion, but that is an option to consider for the Market.
The deck occasionally misses maindeck
Valkyrie Enforcer but overall
Unseen Commando and
Auric Interrogator pull more weight. Enforcer has been invaluable out of the market though.
