After crudely updating an old Flying Hooru deck, with Hooru Pacifier and reluctantly including Icaria, Valkyrie Captain, I quickly discovered how great the card actually is and had to build a Tribal deck around her.

Icaria, Valkyrie Captain is insane and it isn't even that unrealistic to turn on her ability. I also love Inquisitor's Blade and look forward to trying the card out in many other decks. I haven't actually drawn Rolant's Intervention yet, but it's basically an un-nerfed Protect for our deck. I think I'd prefer to run all 4 Seek Power, the 4th Ripknife Assassin, and the 3rd Vanquish but I'm not sure how.

I understand that Ripknife Assassin likely looks out of place, but it's actually great. I wanted to have a critical mass of 2 drops to start the game with and this is a great new toy from Dead Reckoning that I haven't seen get a whole lot of recognition. It has synergy with Unseen Commando and Common Cause. It is also likely to trade up or get the opponent "waste" removal on it instead of one of our bombs like Amilli, Cloudmarshal. Maybe it ends up not deserving a spot, but so far, I've been loving it. I reluctantly cut the 4th copy to try out Rolant's Intervention at the insistence of chat towards the end of the stream I brewed it on but unfortunately never drew it before we ended.

There's definitely more tuning that needs to be done with this deck. Is this better than traditional Argenport? Who knows but it's definitely sweeter!

Hey man I'm new-ish to this game but have 15+ years in MTG. I'm a big fan of Angels and Airwaves. They have a song called Valkyrie Missile, and It's got me wanting to make a Valkyrie tribal deck. This seems the best place to start. Do you still play this deck any? Do you have any updates to this list? Thanks for the deck and any input!

I haven't heard that band in years! I do not play this deck anymore. Argenport Midrange would be a somewhat similar and significantly better version of this deck. It won the ETS tournament last week. Check it out.

That said, if you're just wanting to play Valkyrie Tribal specifically, this would be a good list to start with. Stop by my stream sometime (just ended) and I can help you efficiently build your collection!

Doesn't sound like you tried the deck to me. Current build runs 11 two drops. That's some decent early game. If you want more interaction with the opponents board, you can easily add in Suffocate, Sabotage, Annihilate etc. Is this deck going to be the new hyperbolic Tier 0 meta? Not at all. But it is definitely powerful, definitely has a strong gameplan, and is most importantly, FUN.

of course I tested. Inquisitor's Blade,Battlefield Scavenger slow and weak cards in any deck, Icaria, Valkyrie Captain good when there are 6 influences, but you can play a stronger card for 5+ mana instead of this, Ripknife Assassin does not fit into this deck, it better for agro decks, Makto is just 5/5 flyer when it without Harsh Rule and good cards draw.

I was going to try it in the first draft of the deck, but the stream talked me out of it as we already have so many cards that cost 3. I went with Ripknife Assassin instead as it also has Warcry and itself is Deadly. Perfect target for Inquisitor's Blade!
