Criteria for our budget decks:
- Commons and uncommons only, no rares / legendaries / promos; no exceptions.
- This means no merchants or crests. Some factions get locked out of certain mechanics, e.g. Extract is the only Scout that you can access in Shadow.
- No paid-for expansion cards.
- Must be able to win 4 out of 5 games, with witnesses.
- 1 deck per faction pairing.

This is the first deck we've had succeed, thanks in large part to the new Standards.

I would like to see an updated version with the Defiance set, got a lot of packs and I don't know what deck to craft, this seem a very fun deck to start

While some great gunslingers got added with Defiance, only one of them meets these criteria (unfortunately) as DWD has placed an increasingly heavy emphasis on rares. The only changes I'd consider making would be Seek Power -> Defiance and Frontier Confessor -> Steel-Eyed Pistoleer. I'd love to add a market, but they're all rare too!

If you're just looking to upgrade the deck in general, I'd check out Notorious Scoundrel, Jekk Hunted Fugitive, Sheriff Marley, Champion of Glory, and Highland Sharpshooter for gunslingers, and Deepforged Plate as a replacement for Morningstar.

You can try it with and without, subbing in another set of units or similar. At the time I made the list, it made things run smoother, but metas change.

I registered on this page just to thank you! This deck is awesome. I came from the twich prime event and got some dust, i mean shiftstone. Was looking for a budget deck to start with and get some easy wins. Well, i'm climbing the ladder, almost only wins and it feels great.
Now i'm looking for the legendarys you mentioned.
Is it a good idea to mix the stonescar faction to this deck?

You can, but I wouldn't recommend it until you have cards that are sufficiently powerful to warrant the difficulty of getting influence right. If you're looking for legendaries to include in this particular mix, Stella and the mono-red Jekk are good choices. If you do decide to go for 3 colors, make sure to include Rooftop Vigilante and a handful of weapons like Katana and Hideout Pistol.

I have to say, that the Crownwatch Standard card is one of the greatest cards in this deck. The opponents dont see it coming and wins me the early game.
But it gets hard, when the opponent has flying units.

Been having a lot of fun with this deck. The low mana curve really helps a lot. Being a new player I don't have access to much cards, but I was able to make this pretty cheaply. What are some upgrades that we can add to make this deck better if I may ask? And thanks again for doing this, helping all of us budget players out!

If you really like how slingers feel, I'd recommend using this deck to farm yourself some of their stonescar counterparts like Bandit Queen, Vicious Highwayman, Fire Jekk, or Stonescar Jekk. I wouldn't bother upgrading this particular iteration with anything other than cards you come across in packs or buy for other reasons, if it's winning for you already--put that shiftstone into the deck you'd otherwise be saving towards.

When you say "farm yourself" do you mean just play gauntlet, or versus, etc? Or is there some other method you are talking about. Thanks for your help!

Gauntlet and versus to get enough for draft, then draft as long as you can win 2+ games reliably. That # of wins nets you more cards than you'd get if you'd just paid the same amount for card packs, with the added bonus that you've gotten to choose the cards. (Rare drafting in moderation makes sense, to me.) HI, and first of all, THANK YOU. im new, and ive found that both decks you name on the website (this and the skycrag one) are...AMAZING.
The skycrag is more "just overrun with things and dont think" wich was amazing the fist times ive played...

but this deck is SOOOOO FUN.

seriously. FUN. even when i loose its amazing. and you have more..."power" over the choices you make instead of just randomly putting things on the board. i LOVE IT.

and here comes the problem XD.... you said "you wouldnt want to put the shiftstone on it" to upgrade it...but i really like the feels of this deck and want to "make the best one" possible. What can i do to upgrade it? im really unsure of the legendarys and rares...could i trouble you with a little bit more help?
