Information

To be honest, I was sort of rare-drafting. If I remember correctly, The End is Near was my first pick of the day. I noticed pretty early on that shadow was sort of open, but I was leaning time with the rest. Around the end of pack 2, I just started getting flooded with decent fire cards. By pack 3, I figured I’d do Stonescar. This is exactly how many playables I ended up with, so building it was very easy.

Went 7-1. Most games I just got out in front with cheap units and pushed through the last damage with berserk, weapons, and having a bunch of units.

Underachievers:
Ruination Sledge: (don’t remember drawing) would have been fine as a weapon, but I never needed the spellcraft effect.

Cut Ties (don’t remember drawing) never needed it.

Recogulator (did draw) – always had better plays.

All stars:
Unpredictable Outlaw + weapons. On multiple occasions, I could just play weapon after weapon on her, clearing the way for increasingly damaging attacks. Recycler also worked well – the overwhelm on the Fixit was very helpful.

Grenadin Drone, Dark Wisp, Oni Ronin + Ravenous Thornbeast. Dropping a 5/5 or 6/6 on turn three is marvelous.

Cheap units + Combust: unlike Cut Ties, this got me out of several jams.

Berserk – only had it on two units, still won two games almost single-handedly with weapons and Afterimage.

Other thoughts:
I got off the Stonescar Excavator + Sporefolk + The End is Near combo exactly once. 23 damage in 2 turns with only Ravenous Thornbeast on the board against a lot of small units. I don’t think I would have won that game otherwise, but it’s possible I had decent plays I ignored because I really wanted the combo to work. Oddly enough, Stonescar Excavator also pushed the last 1 damage in my last game.

The End is Near was mixed. The game I lost, I think I played it a turn or two too soon. I drewFinal Shot and Welding Torch afterwards, and I really could have used 7 power while I was sitting at 5. On the other hand, I might not have drawn them without it. Outside of the combo, it felt a bit like a win-more when it worked. On the third hand, it's a little hard to judge from just a few games because I don't know how flooded I would have been otherwise.
