This is an amalgamation of a big Xenan deck with Talir combo. Plan A for the deck is to just play big beaters and attack with them, our aggro matchup is quite strong thanks to our multiple 2-and-3 drops, and midrange decks tend to have trouble beating
Mystic Ascendant once it gets going.
Duskwalker is a great card in the deck, since the nightfall draws us into gas to spend our power on, and it singlehandedly enables turn 5 Mystic Ascendant + power.
Now, there is a plan B for this deck, at it comes in the form of 5 cards in our market. This plan is a win-con against other big midrange decks and against control decks, and it only requires an
Auralian Merchant and a
Dark Return to go off. The plan is that, early on, we play
Auralian Merchant and get
Talir, Who Sees Beyond from our market. We then wait until we reach 9 power, which is quite easy to achieve thanks to the 16 mana dorks this deck runs, and dig for
Dark Return. Alternatively, we can also combo off with a second merchant, but this requires 11 power so it's significantly more challenging. For the combo to work, we need to get our merchant in the void, which should be easy enough to achieve. Once that's accomplished, we play
Talir, Who Sees Beyond and cast
Dark Return on
Auralian Merchant. The merchant will immediately go into play thanks to destiny, and then you grab a
Vodakhan, Temple Speaker from the market. There is no way to cast Vodakhan in the main deck, you're completely reliant on Talir to get him into play. When Vodakhan gets destined in, you'll draw another card and from there you can draw the entire deck. All time units AND any piece of power has destiny, so the only cards that won't get destined in are the remaining copies of dark return. On the other hand, you also have Temple Scribes and Mystic Ascendants, both of which will draw you plenty of extra cards, so you can easily draw your entire deck. Once you go off, you need to dig for a merchant and a dark return as soon as possible. Once you find both of these, you'll want to stop the combo by sacrificing Vodakhan so that you don't deck out.
Lumen Reclaimer is a failsafe if you mess up, but assuming you play optimally and don't draw too many cards off of Mystic Ascendants you likely won't need it. Once you halt the combo, you'll finally get the chance to use the merchant you destinied in to grab Diogo Malaga from the market. He is also a time unit, so he'll get destinied into play just like Vodakhan. You should easily have more than 8 power thanks to Vodakhan, so ultimate him and use dark return on Vodakhan to restart the combo. You start drawing your entire deck again, but this time all your units have charge and double-damage, meaning that you can 1-shot your opponent.
Although fast-speed removal does disrupt the combo if the opponent kills Talir before dark return resolves, they probably used up all their fast removal earlier to answer your fatties, so you should be able to combo off without any trouble. In addition, you can always get Talir herself back if they kill her with an annihilate or the like, since dark return will resolve and Talir will be in the void (alternatively, you can get excavate from the market to get back Talir if you tried to combo off with a merchant) . Then it's just a matter of waiting to draw another dark return/merchant to combo off.
