So, must be nice having a deck, you know, with cards? I'm here to change that.
••• I'm Aegis. My favorite part of Eternal is pushing deck limits and creative deck building. I tend to focus on 150 card decks, most of which are 5 faction, just because it's fun. I don't play ranked often and mainly test my decks in Gauntlet masters but I always try to build as competitively as possible.•••
I love
A New Tomorrow. I love playing it, I love power ramp, I love doing big things with decks. This deck is the craziest of decks I think I've made so far. So your opponent has 60 cards left in his deck? Let's remove all of them in 1 turn.
Mournful Deathcap is the star of this show with the support of my favorite card:
West-Wind Herald. You attempt to ramp to 10 power in any way possible via
Hojan, Crownbreaker,
Tome of Repetition,
Penitent Bull and similar cards. At 10 power just smack
A New Tomorrow down. Your goal with 20 power is to stick a
West-Wind Herald followed up next turn by throwing down a
Mournful Deathcap or two (
Mirror Image) and just swing for a nasty 60 card mill.
There's actually a lot of interwoven little combos in this deck. Most of it to do with ramping but with the ramp theme being units and weapons generally, it all kinda falls into place. So combos to note:
• The obvious one:
Mournful Deathcap +
A New Tomorrow
•
Hojan, Crownbreaker +
Tome of Repetition
•
Copperhall Paladin +
Tome of Repetition
•
Hojan, Crownbreaker /
Copperhall Paladin +
Telut, Queen's Hand
•
Imperial Loyalist + any weapon, including
Telut, Queen's Hand, a 5-cost weapon, to tutor
Mournful Deathcap or even
West-Wind Herald
•
Haunting Scream + anything under 4 power (duh)
•
Secret Passage +
West-Wind Herald,
Gorgon Fanatic, or even a
Telut, Queen's Hand buffed minion
• On 5 power, hold your
Harsh Rule. Take some damage. Play
Dead or Alive and at the start of your turn, hit 'em with that
Harsh Rule.
• This one is a real stretch:
Quarry a
West-Wind Herald to be able to
Haunting Scream it whenever the time is right.
So far I absolutely love this deck and getting one turn 60 card surprise mills vs an opponent. The deck has many, many ways to ramp and sometimes a good
Hojan, Crownbreaker draw can just win you the game. Sometimes just landing a
Mournful Deathcap early and having it just mope around on board, absorbing small trades, or even baiting removal, is just a way to win. If not dealt with this deck will just tempo mill your opponent because you play so many power in a single turn.
This is another deck I'm extremely pleased with so do let me know how you feel about it :P
