I need some tips on how to pilot this deck. Ive yet to win with it, even on casuals, unless the opponent floods or something similar to that effect.

Every card in here gets punished by the weakest of removals. I'm not understanding how this deck can overcome any sort of aggro deck with torch, or go around larger units unless you get perfect draws. I feel that every time I'm starting to push an advantage, the nightfall triggers fuels the enemies hand with huge board wipes or legendary creatures.

I feel the only way to have any confidence in a starting hand is to have gorgon fanatic + haunting scream to start.
Brettorious Edited Eternal Version: 1.31.6
Sure thing. First of all I have actually replaced the two wisps with an extra Dreamsnatcher and a Champ of Cunning. I'm also playing around with Horizon Seeker in my TPS Ravagers deck that just went up today and I am considering using it in this deck as well. Would give the units a bit more survivability. Anyway, if you think there is too much aggro you can always sub in some lightning strikes or something and that will generally be fine. You don't care if you kill your units too much because you usually have a way to bring them back so no big deal. What I generally do is I try to play the deck a bit controlly. Use your permafrosts and Winter's Grasp on their early game. For your early game you throw out Dreamsnatchers, Fanatics and Skybroods. You use those for early defense because you can get them back later for huge value and you slow down your opponent. I generally try to save Darkclaw Ravager until turn 4 if I can help it because then you can immediately use it with a Skybrood if you have one. The main point of this deck is to cascade into an unbeatable board. You need to really think about when to use your Dark Returns, Haunting Screams and Mirror Images. Turns 5-6 are generally when this deck really turns on because you can play into a bunch of combos, which is what you want. Haunting Scream a Bloodscent Avisaur, will get the attack bonus from Ravager, you then Mirror Image that Avisaur and you get a double buffed Avisaur, both of which have flying and charge.

Bottom Line, this deck generally needs to be played like a combo One Turn Kill (OTK) deck. Sacrifice units to your opp in the early game and try to control the pace until you know you can swing for the win.

I'm not the perfect deckbuilder. There are probably many other ways to build this deck better, but this is the one I came up with. I know my advice was all over the place and a bit vague but it's the best I can do. I'm just an average player lol. I hope this helped and you see more success with the deck. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm going to keep grinding this deck out, I love the concept and will be looking out for future updates. Thank you!
Brettorious Eternal Version: 1.31.6
You're very welcome, thanks for giving the deck a go! I'm glad you appreciate it. There was actually a decklist posted today, should still be one the front page, called TPS Ravagers that I used in a tournament if you want to try a different version. I got a flying, charge Darkclaw Ravager with 105/4 that won me a game in that tourney if that piques your interest lol
Mechavelli Eternal Version: 1.31
Why not clutchmate instead of Mirror image? It costs one more mana but it gives your dinos a boost.
Brettorious Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
I cut it precisely because it costs 1 more power. I originally had two of them in there but I found that they werent as useful. Perhaps useing 4 Clutchmates instead of mirror image it would be better than Clutchmate in conjunction with mirror image. I will need to try it out. Generally I like mirror image more though because you only need 5 power to using haunting scream and then mirror image the chargin flier. It's not just about the cost of mirror image itself, it's the fact that mirror image works well with multuple combos in the deck.
Mechavelli Eternal Version: 1.31
Mirror Image and Haunting Scream together is a fantastic combo. You're right, that cheaper cost makes it worth not having the +1/1 bonus. Congrats on the deck!
Brettorious Eternal Version: 1.31
Thanks a bunch, glad you like it!

so i've been playing around a bit more with this and i've swapped in 4x Horizon Seeker for Dreamsnatcher/Dark Wisp.

the idea being, you want to keep the gas flowing so you can overwhelm them with your combo'ey damage. it's similar to how nightfall functions in this list:
https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/EgI_tOjoXwg/praxis-nightmare-tokens
knowing that, your board will inevitably overrun whatever nonsense they're attempting to do (especially if it's like a midrangey deck with 4/5 drops)

anyway, just a temporary change but i cant imagine reverting back on it. hell, at this point you might even be able to run Darkbolt

edit: Horizon Seeker isn't a dinosaur, hurrrrrr
but it still kind of fills that role that Dark Wisp was filling, while also having a minor synergy for the deck.

edit2: i'm also playing around with Miris Nightshade but i might be getting too far away from the core of the deck at this point, despite the curse density
Brettorious Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
I can see how the nightfall from Horizon Seeker would be a helpful tool to keep the deck going but it feels kind of weak early in my opinion. The reason I put in the dreamsnatchers was actually to help out defend against aggro. Against Midrange I can see how it would be good but on the ladder I mostly see aggro. I actually took out the Dark Wisps for another Dreamsnatcher and also added two Champion of Cunnings. I think the Champ of Cunning is solid because it's good sized unit that can be hard to kill and helps the deck by buffing all the units, including Darkclaw Ravager which can cascade the game.

I'll have to do more testing with Horizon Seeker, I think you could be onto something there. I never tested it much because it just seemed weak to me but I'll give it a go. Thanks for the input, glad you're enjoying your new deck!

This deck is such a blast to play, it's hilarious! This truly feels like a combo deck in Eternal, which is a rare sight, so good job sir for posting and winning with it! I've cut the Dark Wisp for 4 Dreamsnatcher and a lonely Vara's Favor, and 1 Primal Sigil for a third Crest and it's smooth sailing.
Brettorious Eternal Version: 1.31
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it!
I actually only came in second but thanks anyway :P
Those all sound like good changes, I'll have to try that. Hope you keep having fun with it!

Very original.

Thank you very much!
flippyflop Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
dang really?

so it's like, dino scream or something? i need to try this out, grats on the placing btw.
Dark Wisp seems like a peculiar choice

i wonder if there might not be some horrible gimmick version with Snapping Brushstalker and Twilight Hunt or just more midrangey with Duskwalker, Xenan Obelisk, Pteriax Hatchling and such.

edit:
yea ignore all the above... man, multiple ravagers and skybroods on a board just feels so satisfying. it's like im playing izzet fling in MTGA. legitmately amazed you found a way to make cards like Talon Dive and Stampede Driver work. kudos dewd ;w;b
Brettorious Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
Thanks!

Yeah, I think the wisp needs to go, I just wanted a way to draw extra cards while getting some protection from cards like Oni Ronin. I think 4 Dreamsnatchers would be better. If you can get the ultimate on dreamsnatcher off he gets huge, which is great for scream because he can swing in for a ton of damage out of nowhere, especially if he get overwhelm from Talon Dive or Stampede Driver. I also am starting to think that the Champ of Cunning belongs in the main deck. It plays well with Scream and really benefits the Darkclaw Ravager.

I actually piloted a TPS version lasst week. I like it a lot and it has a lot more options, I just wanted to see how a Feln version would do. Twilight Hunt is great for a Dino Scream deck with Darkclaw Ravager, and I have actually tried allthe other cards you suggestedas well. The problem I found is, while Pteriax Hatchling is great for card value because you get two for one, but it dies easily and it takes up the three cost spot. The deck already is super heavy on three drops but the other three drops are stronger and provide nightfall. I actually have one or two of the TPS Dino Scream decks posted on my profile here if you want to check them out. I hope you enjoy them and can tweak them in a way you like. I like to build interesting decks but I am a terrible deck builder, so I hope you can improve on my design and let me know when you do!

edit:
Replying to your edit. Thanks again lol. I'm glad you enjoy it!
