Vulk, the Autoforge is a card i've been wanting to use for years; a 3 power 5/3 endurance overwhelm that buffs itself with recursion is an INSAAANE package, but the cost of his recursion (3 power and sacrificing
another relic) paired with his 3 influence cost was too steep a price to pay.
then
honey showed up.
now the problem with honey is that they're all fairly low impact, cost 2 power to activate, and can only be used once. a hungry Vulk would love to eat these things up but did i really want to build a deck around bad honey producing cards as an excuse to use Vulk?
then
Veena, Rising Queen showed up.
now the deck could be built...
enablers:
Logistics Expert -- enables vulk or veena on turn 2 and scales late, overall incredible card that i find hard to not put in every single deck that runs time
Caravan Wingwright (can also use
Shardbinder) --
really makes the deck sing
honey production:
Scared Beetender -- the only good 1 drop honey producer that does double duty as a scaling payoff
First Shipment -- does
everything
Liquid Flame -- a slow 3 power deal 3 damage spell would normally be utterly unplayable, but in this deck it works surprisingly well
Honey Porter -- makes more honey than any other card in the game and is especially good with
Tinker Overseer
card advantage/tech:
Veena's Masterpiece -- works beautifully in this deck; pretty much all our payoffs scale naturally so the 4 damage threshold is very easy to hit without using the ability, however... multiplying veena's masterpiece ability with
Veena, Rising Queens will snowball your board out of control very quickly.
Desert Marshal -- justice decks basically require marshal or
Valkyrie Enforcer. i like marshal more in this deck for the smoother curve and ambush.
payoffs:
Drifting Drone -- weak early (still a decent blocker) but gets strong fast, even just 2 relics in the void makes drone a formidable force
Tinker Overseer -- this guy goes wild
Veena, Rising Queen -- produces honey, makes activating honey actually good, and multiples of her is disgustingly strong; i've won many games with fire honeys doing 4/6/8 damage each... also, she has some niche synergy with multiple vulks in the void (one
Vulk's Heart activation with her in play will bring back 2 buffed vulks)
Vulk, the Autoforge -- our namesake
MARKET:
Collision Course -- mostly used for inscribe but can come in clutch to force blocks, could be swapped for whatever you want
Manacles -- really good tempo play and has a tiny bonus of triggering tinker overseer
Pristine Light -- the definitive staple justice market card
Tayana, the Mender -- super fun and good card, makes our honey never go away! unfortunately has
anti-synergy with drifting drone but it's usually worth having weaker drones for endless honey
Lord Steyer's Tower -- it just does a lot of stuff but could be swapped for something else
sideboard:
Lystia, Winged Lantern -- haven't played with her so not sure how she performs. could probably be swapped in for liquid flames
Waystone Gate -- i used this briefly; has good synergy with shardbinder and vulk (fun to sac it to vulk's heart) but it was way too slow if i hadn't played either of the aforementioned cards.
First Shipment does basically everything this card wants to do but better.
