This is the current list I'm using to grind Gauntlet. It is fast, consistent and has dragons. While an aggro deck, it has enough value that you won't fall behind if you don't finish early.
The idea is to play early units that synergize with dragons, cheap dragons, or high value units (such as
Varret, Hero-in-Training or
Champion of Chaos).
Cozin Darkheart is the glue that holds everything together and that allows you to retain advantage if the game drags for too long.
To activate masteries, kill enemy units, or just push damage with
Champion of Chaos, the deck has both
Rapid Shot and
Spiteful Strike. Quickdraw works great with mastery, and the +4 to damage from
Rapid Shot will trigger the masteries on
Teething Whelp and
Varret, Hero-in-Training the turn after you play them.
I am unsure about what to do with the market, with which I am not satisfied, so any help is more than welcomed. Also,
Blackhall Warleader is a possible replacement for
Varret, Hero-in-Training. Both have their strong points.
Varret, Hero-in-Training cares not for blockers, as its mastery will advance either way, and that means he retains value later in the game, when paired with one of the combat tricks.
Blackhall Warleader on the other hand, if allowed to hit once, gets out of range of torch, and it could potentially win the game on its own. Still, i'm leaning towards
Varret, Hero-in-Training at the moment. Again, I welcome any of your thoughts.
Two things that make the deck quite consistent are:
-The power requirement is very low. Most cards cost 3 or less, and the 4 cost cards can be cheaper if
Oni Dragonsmith is in play. I've beaten bosses with just 2 power.
- The deck performs really well against a variety of bosses. Double damage boss makes masteries really easy to trigger, and charge boss also makes
Crimson Firemaw a friggin monster.
Edit. Added
Sindok, Rage Incarnateto the market, and it's been performing well. A great win more card to take out when you are already ahead, and want to keep that way. Also, another dragon, so yay
