Still early in testing, but really loving how this is playing in gauntlet so far.
Wump & Mizo and
Trick Throw are the superstars of the deck so far - incredible against the token/go wide decks, aggro decks, and can pop aegis.
Equivocate is insane against any of the voltron decks and also can completely ruin the sibling rivalry boss.
Pteriax Mount is great to buff some of our ground threats, including
Alhed Ascending, a transformed
Wump & Mizo or
Worldbearer Behemoth.
Rolling Spikeback and
Savage Skybrood are solid role players. Skybrood can get out of control if you drop it turn 1, and Spikeback is often a solid top deck, as it's a 2 for 1 and a decent blocker/body.
Power base probably needs some work but it's running fine so far.
Primal Symbol helps us hit all our double and triple blue pip cards, and
Time Symbol help gets our
Alhed Ascending online - getting to 4 time with Alhed is really important, because the decay really helps wittle down an opponent's board with bigger threats.
Strangely,
Wisdom of the Elders is the card I'm most interested in cutting. It's definitely a great top deck late in games, but I've found I'm pretty much using all my power every turn or taking debt from Mount / Plunk, casting removal, or dropping more creatures. Could see going down to 2 and putting in two more
Worldbearer Behemoth. Will explore.
Overall really loving this deck and think it is quite viable in the current gauntlet meta. Feels like we have enough control and tempo, along with strong, evasive threats to win basically any matchup.
Going to keep working on this deck, would love any input or suggestions!
VB EDIT (2/4/22) - Ended up cutting Wisdom for two more copies of Behemoth and to include two
Dinosaur Nest. I still need to test more but tried running 4 Nest and while the +2/+2 buff is great, the 1/1 each turn isn’t really that impactful unless you have a
Savage Skybrood out. Your units often will be dying to opponent removal so building a massive board state can be tough, esp if they are picking off the 1/1 with the
Wump & Mizo snowballs. And, like wisdom, I find you just want to be doing way more on turns 2 and 3. I might explore bringing back 4 Wisdom and going up to 4 nest, with the idea you stall until you can get the Nests to flip, refill your hand with card draw, and then drop massive Dinos … would probably cut Plunk at that point, but right now I like how the deck is playing.
Will report back and would appreciate any comments!
