The ShiftstonedEternal Power Calculator is a deck-building tool that visualizes your odds of drawing enough Influence and Power based specifically on the cards found in your deck.
Hey Aetherllama, thanks for the deck! I have been playing it for a while, and I can’t help but wonder if Harsh Rule is realy the best inclusion in the deck. I found myself playing in a rather controllish style, which allows to cast Harsh Rule on turn 5 without too many losses, but drawing it midgame, when you have all your owls, Alessis, and HoTV’s—that is just sad. Thoughts?
Depends on the meta and play style. I play it because if I have a board presence then I can usually win despite having a dead card in hand, but if I fall far behind then I can only win by drawing Harsh Rule. The deck is easier to play if you switch Harsh Rule for Sword of Unity, so many players will win more by making that switch. You can also do a 2-2 split because they are situational and its better to draw 1 of each than 2 of the same. Another option is Vanquisher's Blade.
Yeah, makes sense. I really regretted having Harsh Rule in the deck when I played against the reanimator and they drew it from my deck through Azindel :) But I get the coming-back purpose of the card. Thanks!
Hi, I was wondering why Copperhall Elite is in the Market, is it because it's sort of resistant to removal? What about Darya as a finisher or something? Thanks!
I want a consistent turn 4 play for when I don't draw pressgang. I don't see any better turn 4 plays that both merchants can grab, the only decent alternative is reality warden, which is better in some metas. Elite has been pretty good especially against aggro. More finishers are not needed.
I jammed it for 20-30 games last night and found that in most games I didn't play Heart, I ran out of gas pretty quickly. It really felt like set 2 Praxis where where the deck was just Heart waiting room. Sure, sometimes you can manage the market-swap game with Xo, but this deck doesn't have other good fate cards, nor other good ways to abuse Xo, so it felt weaker than FJS or FTP in that regard. And sometimes you can win off Alessi + Stand, but that mostly relies on having some amount of board.
I've played many more games than that and drawing merchants, Pressgang, and Parliament have a higher correlation with winning than drawing HotV. If you're running out of gas quickly then you're doing something wrong. I do not run out of gas except against good draws from hard control.
