Information

Why each card is in the deck.

Power Base-

It’s very simple but has been pretty balanced so far, maybe needs a bit of tinkering but not bad for a 5F deck.

Units-

Smugglers, Xo, Brel. Efficient units that have great value. Smugglers are great early game units that get the best market options for your situation. Xo is an incredibly powerful unit that works as good Market fodder and can be bought out later. Brel was chosen mostly since she fits well with both Display of Ambition AND Display of Honor which I’ll address later.

Displays-

Display of Ambition- Solid removal and every unit in the deck is a fantastic buyback target. The Overwhelm mode is pretty irrelevant.

Display of Honor- Weakest Display by far and is probably better off as a Hailstorm or Wispm of the Elders but I like the Display suite theme. Transforming units can be important in matchups with Display of Ambition and Reanimator. Lifesteal and a surprise pump is great but we have limited units so it’s typically not an option. Being able to buyback Brel’s Mallet comes up occasionally and it’s a sweet synergy.

Display of Instinct- Probably our best Display overall. Great removal that also deals with Sites, able to counter key spells in matchups such as reanimator and FJS, can occasionally bounce units which is pretty good since it either resets Xo or a Merchant or we can replay Brel and get another Mallet OR the dream of pumping an existing Mallet.

Display of Knowledge- Likely our second best Display. QuickDraw clause is mostly irrelevant, we run a package of Relics that can synergize with our game plan or pull ahead and we want to make sure we know which relic we want in each matchup. Gavel for Void abusing decks, Crown is mostly for fun but has been solid against Temporal and other Control decks, Daisho is great against control decks that can’t deal with relics and can just eat multiple units if needed, Knuckelbones is a win condition, as is Martyr’s Chains, and Temporal is great when the board is clear so we can be full control. The unit tucking ability is excellent for making it through the early game by removing units.

Display of Vision- mostly here for Ramp and fixing but also extremely important against token style decks and being able to remove cards like opposing Chains/Eternity Core/Temporal/Crown is fantastic

Other Spells-

Harsh Rule-Sweeper to help stabilize

Seek Power-Fixing

Market-Every card can be found by either Smuggler

Slay-Unconditional removal
Regent’s Tomb-Fantastic card to follow a Smuggler. Disrupts opponent, helps hit power, possible win condition.
Memento Mori-Ramp and fixing for our crazy deck
Shatterglass Mage-A body that also removes attachments
Moment of Creation- An excellent win condition that is frequently 8+. This card has really overperformed

Nice merchants/market.

Thanks, I knew I wanted Ebon Dune because it allows you to use power efficiently. Red Canyon works with the pump effects and grabbed the same market cards.

Have you looked at this through shiftstoned.com? it really helped me on my last 5f deck.

Haven’t yet but thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out!
