Feln Nightfall was one of my favorite aggro decks back in the day (got me to my first Master rank). Getting ahead with early threats and then watching the opponent slowly die to nightfall ticks as they tried to stabilize was really satisfying. After coming back to the game recently, I've been playing around with Elysian Nightfall in Expedition with not much success. Having said, Elysian has recently received two of the strongest cards,
Master Archivist and
Corrupted Riftborn, in the format via promos so wanted to give it another shot. I've had a lot of fun playing with this deck in Master rank and wanted to share.
Units
Borderlands Lookout: Solid 1-drop that the deck really needs to apply early pressure.
Master Archivist: Does everything...helps hit power drops and is able to apply pressure early and becomes a huge threat late game. Will be sad when this gets nerfed.
Starlight Guide: 3 power threat with evasion for 2 is already great for this deck. The 5 damage
Darkbolt is almost always on which can peel some big threats.
Lethrai Darkstalker: Nothing really flashy, but gets the job done. 4 toughness against other aggro decks is nice to have.
Lunar Magus: Helps you race and not die to the nightfall ticks.
Nocturnal Glider: Solid evasive threat with Nightfall.
Corrupted Riftborn: So strong...opponent will need to deal with this before anything else. Can buy you the that one extra turn needed to push through the last bit of damage.
Pincer Ant: Good for taking out a blocker and the cost increase to spells and attachments can be super annoying.
Insatiable Anteater: Wish this card was 4 cost with different stats but still fine in its current form.
Non-Units
Winter's Grasp: Stun is almost always on to shut down a blocker or big threat. Not the greatest against cards that are still good even if they can't attack/block (see
Nomnom & Sashenka).
Stargazing: Delays the opponent from stabilizing and a cheap way to keep nightfall going.
Lipa's Blessing: Probably should be a 4 of given the versatility. This is your way of applying silence and a 3 power threat doesn't attack into this deck very well. Making one of your own units a 3/3 flyer can also be relevant.
Thundershot: This was a random card I decided to include and has really overperformed. 3 units on board isn't a big ask for this deck. 6 damage to the dome can end a game when an opponent thinks they have stabilized. Love this card.
