Eternal is a very unique card game. I have played Hearthstone and Magic, and I've never had the "ooh, I want to build around this" moments that I've had with this game. When I unlocked my copy of Talir, my first thought was "ooh, I want to build around this."
This was originally a mono-time deck, but after the deck started working almost too well, I wanted to splash a color for some removal, hence the red. Maybe I'll decide after more testing that I can drop the red after I get another copy of Talir, but until then, this is my Destiny deck.
The main "combo" of the deck is to play Talir as fast as possible. This deck is more than capable of winning without drawing Talir at all, but pulling off the combo is so exciting when it happens. To do this, we've got a load of ramp in the early game (
Talir's Favored ,
Initiate of the Sands and
Trail Maker ), to lead into giant pay-off creatures once we slam
Talir, Who Sees Beyond .
This deck is a lot of fun to pilot, and there's only really a few things to keep in mind.
Unless you have a target worth silencing/removing, hold onto
Archive Curator or
Scorpion Wasp.
Purify is still in the testing stages, so it could get completely dropped.
You really do not have to have Talir in your opening seven to make this deck good.
If there are any questions or suggestions, please leave them in the comments. Thanks!
