Hate me if you want but I'm trying to perfect echo revenge. The changes to this deck are interesting. Essentially our combo splashability was nerfed with Pathfinder going to tt, but our combo pieces got buffed with stonepowder down to 3.
So I figured the easiest way to keep a deck centered on combo that doesn't just choke up on influence is to drop the fourth faction. We only played 6 fire cards in the last deck so it isn't that hard to replace them. Fire's roll in the deck was to search for cards ala quarry and Rise, we have substituted Scheme for a similar effect. Scheme has a bit of a negative synergy if you have two activated revenge at once so be careful.
While virtually the same this deck plays a bit different from the previous one. As your ability to search out your combo is much weaker the game plan becomes much less about rushing out the combo and more about surviving. Your removal suite is powerful and you have efficient life gain to last quite awhile until you pull your combo off. Our agro matchup is honestly better thanks to the stonepowder buff. Control matchups are perhaps a little worse because it takes us longer to get going than it used to. This is totally fine when you consider we were matched bad against agro and good against control, the deck when refined will probably be better than the original! And more annoying to deal with too.
Right now I think the easiest cards to cut are 1 makto and the varas'/excavates. makto is a lot weaker in this version of the deck and I often find myself allowing one to hide on the bottom of my deck with scheme. I'm weary about running less units though. perhaps -2 excavate -2 vara's for +1 banish +1slay and +2 suffocate. Might even be able to trade an annihilate for a suffocate... but I really like annihilate .
