Do you like winning fast? Really really fast? Catching your opponent off guard with their pants down and d!ck in their hand so badly they scoop, scrap their deck, and never play a deck without 10
Vara's Authority ever again? With a budget deck? Well, this is the deck for you.
I've just created it and have decided to post after crushing so marginally, that I'm actually laughing. Didn't take it into ranked yet because I just reached Platinum and am afraid to rank down. Is that a thing?
I've been working on this deck for a long long time. It's actually inspired by a ridiculously fast Stonescar Gauntlet grinder deck, a ridiculously fast Fire/Skycrag Expedition deck, and a strangely, a lot of the discard mechanics I've been using in Draft and Expedition.
I'm not sure on the numbers and a few slots are weird but it's near perfect for now. I'm sure with a few tweaks, you can make it your own. The real questionable numbers and slots are:
Hotblood Barbarian (obviously the worst card here),
Unstable Form (I used to run 1. But 2 is pushing it. The blue really is a splash, but this can also be uses as like
Autotread fodder or something.
Speaking of blue splash, I only own 1 copy of
Invasive Species at the moment. But more blue might make this a possible mainboard.
I haven't run into this deck's bane (
Hidden Crusader enough yet to find a solution for it. That card alone is your tempo nightmare. You could consider
Flash Fry, and that would actually be great against Regen but... Waiting to play it on their turn, just so they don't get the bonus is just too much to worry about. Just cut the losses and accept that you may do very poorly against this. The idea is to not let them stabilize.
How to play the deck:
Dump your hand. Reap the rewards. But actually...
*Always be attacking. Never blocking. If you can help it. Any loss of tempo is no good.
*Don't forget
Invasive Species is icing on the cake, and it's waoting there always. Finding a way to get it in sometimes may be the extra umph you need, or fodder card.
*Discard the cards that will give you the advantage.
*The math can be tricky with cards like
Autotread and D'angolo Houndmaster especially. It takes some getting used to, and there are a few subtle tricks maybe, but I'm sure you'll find the rhythm.
Anyway, enjoy, and thoughts and suggestions are definitely welcome.
