I made this deck to fulfill a spell damage quest, I kept playing it because it was fun, winning games, and beating up on palace decks, so far at least. And burning your enemies to death is fun.
Ankle Cutter is great against Palace - with him on the board, pop their aegises, then torrential downpour for a board wipe.
CoF and Crunch deal great overwhelm damage and Crunch often gets you card draw to boot while you're being aggressive.
Thanks to HP Smuggler and Cloudsnake Harrier, your Snowballs and Downpours are often 3 damage spells, killing most units the enemy will throw at you. And if they have more health, throw a buffed torch or flare.
Or, just, you know, BURN THEM ALL! Great card as it kills most units and all sites and, because this deck often ends up with high power, you can do both at once.
Or just burn their face - that will be the main way you win. Bladerang is back as a fun card to suddenly pull wins out of nowhere.
As for the other market cards, Quota is in case you haven't found Ankle Cutter to get rid of their lifesteal or against control decks. Rockslide is a medium sweeper/aegis popper/anti-site card. Polymorph is for lifesteal units à la Vara or for Silverwing Couriers, which you otherwise cannot kill (though you can still win with face damage). Finally, Molot & Nakova are for those late-game situations where you need an extra shove of force.
Have fun burning your opponents!
Note: Know your meta - this is definitely not always a good deck, I just think it's a good deck for now with lots of Hooru Palace running around.
Edit: Replaced M&N with Bore, but it just depends on what you're running into. Mokhnati is another interesting option as well.
Edit: Add 4 Flame Blast because it's awesome in this deck. Also fiddled with the market some.
That being said, if you have only one Howling Peak it could be a market card, perhaps in place of Honor of Claws and then you could put Honor of Claws as a 4x. Or you could put in a few Mortars or Obliterates I suppose. Mokhnati fulfills the role of a card draw engine late game so you could try him. Mess around with it and tell me what worked for you. The deck can definitely still do well without the site.
Either way, I'm happy this was able to help out!
Though I did dump all the Xo's for Strategizes, since I dusted all my Xo's after the nerf and don't want to remake them right before the new set. Been considering going back in for one for the market to put in the Scourge spot though.
