I designed this deck for my stepfather, who recently started playing the game, having played a lot of MTG back in the day. He rather enjoyed deck based around the "Exalted" keyword, which makes creatures stronger when attacking alone, so I wanted to base a deck around this mechanic in Eternal.
This is mostly a "for-fun" deck, but in the few games I've played with it, it doesn't seem entirely worthless as a competitive deck. Don't expect a lot of ranking up with it though.
The central conceit of the deck is abusing
Paladin Oathbook, with a support package for
Hero of the People.
The Oathbook, it turns out, works rather well with Berserk units, granting them twice the bonus when using their ability. This can lead to a rather explosive early game, but the deck is in danger of running out of juice after a while.
Hero of the People is a pretty natural fit, especially with the inclusion of Unseen Commando, which also has other synergies. Once Hero of the People is a 6/6 beast with Flying, Berserk, Lifesteal, Charge, and Revenge, she should have your opponent reconsidering their life choices.
This deck is strongest against slow decks, seeking to build a strong board in the early game and start stacking buffs. It's rather prone to fizzling out though, with no draw outside the market and
Dark Return and it seems to have a pretty bad matchup with other aggro decks.
It's buckets of fun though, so if you have the cards, or don't mind spending the dust, I recommend giving it a go. Feel free to make suggestions for changes, I'm rather new at deckbuilding.
Cheers!
