So, with some new sentinel support, I decided to dust off an oldie but goodie archetype--Praxis Pledge.
Long story short, the new stuff isn't good enough for the most part.
Powercell doesn't demand enough of an answer, barricade basher is too easily answered to devote a second card to, and
Deheen Blitz is good enough as a 1-of in the market to throw some spare power at if you have no better fetches, but a cross between
Bloodboil Executioner and
Topaz Drake with flavor text to see if your opponent isn't a potato is no 5-cost
Soulfire Drake. He feels absolutely unnecessary, and if you want to cut him and the persuader for a
Flame Blast and something else, be my guest.
Ixtun Merchant is a flex slot and you can try your pick of obliterate or flame blast there if you'd like some more top-end, but having another 3-drop felt fine.
The standout cards IMO are paintings in the power base--they're not cylixes, but they help get you going early on, and the laser blasts can come in clutch before Darya/Gunrunner are online.
So yeah, if you feel like playing some Praxis again, give the deck a whirl. Curve out, stomp on people, be happy.
