The core strategy of this deck is to pollute the opponents hand with cards you force them to draw, while making them too expensive to play via
Teacher of Humility, and
Andrik, Renegade Priest. After you jam up their hand you come in with an
Unraveling Fanatic as your win condition.
Card draw for both players are done via
Cursed Prophet Deleph, Nightfall, and the
Unraveling Fanatic. If there were more cards that draw for both players, I would use them.
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker,
Hidden Road Smuggler and
Lunar Magus provide some sustain vs agro decks.
Worldbearer Behemoth combo's wonderfully with
Andrik, Renegade Priest. If you can get two attacks in with him
Andrik, Renegade Priest makes him unstoppable and a win condition.
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker,
Worldbearer Behemoth,
Sandstorm Titan, and
Lunar Magus are in here for their incredible value. The threat they project will often make your opponent panic and target them while
Andrik, Renegade Priest screws their hand, or
Unraveling Fanatic grows. Generally speaking I trading 2+ units for one of these is a good deal that you should encourage. If you can get a couple of these down while they opponent has no answers, they can be a win condition on their own.
Dissociate may look a little lack luster, however increasing the cost of a card in someones hand is not to be trifled with. Add in that its fast, and deals with both spells and relics makes it 100% pure win. Generally speaking do not bother bouncing cards that are inexpensive unless it is saving an
Unraveling Fanatic. If I have this in my hand I almost always reserve 2 power over playing something else so I have the opportunity to use it.
Reweave is a great way to search for a merchant or an
Unraveling Fanatic while protecting him for 3 turns. There are plenty of 3/4 cost cards to toss into the trade. If I have an
Cursed Prophet Deleph down I will pretty much always attack with him once, and then immediately
Reweave him.
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker and
Sandstorm Titan are good alternate targets to reweave into a
Andrik, Renegade Priest if you already have an
Unraveling Fanatic going.
When taking your initial hand, ditch anything that has under 3 power, or two power and an
Andrik, Renegade Priest. Don't pledge
Andrik, Renegade Priest if you have over 3 power. An ideal opening hand has a playable
Teacher of Humility on the second turn, and the power in this deck is tuned to make that happen as tightly as possible. Early scouting should focus on getting you to 5 power, and then dumping anything in excess. Sometimes getting the Justice power is hard. This is the most painful when it is preventing you from using a
Reweave.
Generally speaking this deck is in a solid place. That said a couple cards feel weaker then the rest:
*
Cursed Prophet Deleph -- while this card words with the combo, in general it feels like a pretty weak play.
*
Kerendon Cargo -- The power fixing is not that great, and creating & drawing a card combos particularly poorly with
Andrik, Renegade Priest.
*
Burglarize -- now that I am playing
Dissociate the market is not really needed for dealing with relics.
*
Slay - I love this card, though I think i'd like to cycle it for a removal that is fast.
Any feedback on alternates for these is greatly appreciated!
Display is an ok card, and we are playing the correct colors for it. It can help round out your power as this deck needs TTTJJSS to play all cards which is pretty intensive. I find the combat trick of -1/-1 can help you with agro decks. Having a way to deal with attachments can also make or break some fights.
