FAQs (nobody actually asks me this, it's just a format to put down my thoughts):
Wow! A stealth based skycrag deck! Is Rooted Observer really that strong?
No not really, it's just a 1/1 that sometimes eventually turns into a 4/3, which is nice but it's not really what makes the deck work so well.
So what does make the deck work? How did you get such a high rank with it?
The deck is capable of fast aggro starts, big bursts of damage, is well protected against spells and has ways to generate card advantage. I also think I got a decent advantage from the decklist being unknown (until now). Stealth units are extra annoying if you don't know what deck you're up against and I think opponents got caught off guard by how slow this deck can be.
Catching people off guard by how slow your aggro deck is?
Yes, I assume when I put down fire units and attack with them, my opponent might think I'm also playing things like
Battlefront Dasher,
D'Angolo Houndmaster and
League Explorer and play as if they're up against a hyper aggressive deck where every life point matters. Instead we're playing eight cards that transform into five drops and ways to set up a value engine with
Plunk Wumpkin or
Awakened Arsonist, keeping the pressure up for way longer than they were expecting.
How do you win against aggro if your deck is just a slower aggro deck?
Sometimes you win by racing them and sometimes you win by blocking and running them out of cards like a midrange deck would. It depends on the situation.
Ok, but what do you do against Helena, Skyguide?
Lose. You just lose mostly. That card is already really good if it doesn't also 'revive' a unit you just permafrosted. Any decent sized endurance unit in general is a big pain in the ass for this deck actually. It's certainly its achilles heel. But just pretend they don't exist and enjoy winning against anything else.
I hope you give it a try and have succes with it as well and have fun! :)
Good job buddy
