Am I forcing this when it's not there?

It seems like Soldiers can be a good deck, but everything I've tried so far just falls flat. This is my latest attempt. Putting it here in case there's something I'm missing. Somebody help please.

I can't deal with Mandrakes though, but that seems to be a common theme for this expedition.
