I wanted to use niche cards like Patriarch and make it somewhat viable. So, I threw up something together with the dino theme. It's a fun deck to play around with. Not exactly something you'd want to ladder with. Though I've had some good success with it.
I've tried different variants of this deck, and this is the best I can come up with. Undoubtedly, this deck has glaring weaknesses. Notable cards such as Sandstorm Titan and Harsh Rule completely disrupts tempo, especially Sandstorm Titan. Without wasp, this deck has literally no answers for it. Any source of removal is obviously a problem. Swarm tactics with aggressive plays can as well. So, I've adapted the deck to be more favorably suited against TP midrange, TJP chalice, reanimator/control, combo combrei, etc.
4 backlash and 4 scorpion wasp seems like overkill. Perhaps, it is. But since the faction combination TP has almost no forms of removal, 4 scorpion wasp is justified. I've used Titan, lightning storm, prince, marisen's disciple as replacements and but they often don't do much to change board-states. 4 backlash is to counter removal. Removing one patriarch or pteriax is far more detrimental to this deck than, say, removing a Sandstorm Titan from an ordinary TP midrange. Rain of Frogs is to counter the meta obviously.
Aside from these weaknesses, the point of the deck is to ramp to your dinos, damage your opponent low enough with the combination of patriarch, ptreiax, and carnosaur. For the late-game, if you're versing against some variant of control or chalice or what have you, Scourge of Frosthome becomes the win condition. In fact, if you can't fish for it with omen or play it outright, you'd most likely lose.
