Wheeeeeeeeee! A nice start to the new draft format. I'm a huge fan of the warp mechanic - it allows Praxis decks to have a ton of incidental card advantage, and provides a ton of value to an otherwise very low-to-the-ground deck.
....also,
Twinbrood Sauropod is a good card.
P1P1 was
Hooru Painting from a weak pack, but P1P2 reminded me that Praxis warp.dec is a thing with
Shatterglass Mage. From there, I pretty much just stuck to Praxis, picking up all the warp cards I saw.
The deck functioned quite well - it has a bunch of strong aggressive cards (
Bloodspear Footsoldier,
Detonation Cannon, etc) backed up by a bit of incidental card advantage from warp and its powerbase (
Rune of Flame,
Time Sketch). As a result, while it was definitely capable of running out of cards in hand, it still did a good job of always having something to spend power on.
Games usually started with me having an aggressive turn 2 play and putting opponent on the back foot. This tempo advantage, in turn, allowed me to squeeze a bit of extra value from my cards - stuff like delaying playing a 5-drop by a turn to amplify Rune of Flame, or dumping power into D'Angolo Houndmaster instead of committing more to the board.
MVP: Twinbrood Sauropod. Two beefy bodies provide a ton of value and board presence.
