Talir's Intervention are run to help your Seats enter undepleted while also gaining some life by acting as a chump blocker (typically 4+), or acting as Vara sacrifice fodder. It's a meta choice for the amount of aggro on ladder at the moment, but they were not in previous builds of the deck.

Grabbing Thunderstrike Dragon from the market is pretty much the default against most decks because it allows you to pressure in the midgame, but obviously the versatility of the market means it should be customised to the metagame you encounter at your point on ladder.

For instance, I have been seeing a lot of Martyr's Chains and Mask of Torment decks on ladder, hence the additional relic removal.
