Deck Tutorial: The idea of this list is to use Sporefolk, Chairman's Contract, and Pompous Historian to Self Mill cards. Next is to use Grasping at Shadows (1 in the sideboard) to recursion back either Azindel, Revealed or Vara, Fate Touched. Next I have gone with 8 merchants (Both with access to Shadow for maximum consistency) and some mid-range finishers to help stabilize like Caiphus, Worldbearer, or Mystic Ascendent. Also I have 1 copy of Back-Alley Delinquent in the sideboard in case Azindel is drawn instead of milled. The rest is straightforward.
Options: Forgotten Find is a bit of a combo piece (I've tried 1 in the sideboard or 4 in the main), both can be very good or very bad.
Go wide strategies are a bit of problem so Stray into Shadow is 1 in the sideboard.
Dread in the mainboard is nice because it fills many roles in the list (I would probably run 4 if I owned the full playset.
Finding the way is okay in the list (helps with merchants and finding 3 or 4 power), but it's sometimes slow or clunky (costs 2 for depleted power).
My budget considerations: I only own 1 Vara, Fate Touched and would definitely run 2 or 3 or 4.
I also don't own playsets of cards like Teacher of Humility or Sandstorm Titan. So those might be better in the list.
Xenan Temple in the Sideboard might also be a consideration.
The list performs very well against mid-range mirror Xenan lists because we aren't waiting to play cards like Azindel, and can dig pretty fast for bigger threats.
Aggro is a problem usually (units in these colors are not damage dealers so it's tough to stabalize).
Azindel is the 1 win condition though, and should always be the goal.
This list is considered unfinished, but has been playtested for about 200 games.
