This deck aims to cheat out an early
Novaquake Titan by buffing sentinels with
Finest Hour,
Ancient Defenses,
Xenan Obelisk.
Core cards are
Monolith Guardian,
Scourstone Sentinel,
Sandstorm Titan,
Novaquake Titan, and an assortment of relics, buffs, and ramp/fixers.
Each finest hour on a sentinel gives you a net reduction of 2 for the bond card you want to play. The best target for this is
Monolith Guardian, which, combined with one finest hour, can let you play Novaquake for 7.
Even if you don't draw a Novaquake, the deck can give you some very explosive turns, like dropping a 7/8 overwhelm and a 5/3 charge for only 2 power. Often games can be won just with overwhelm sentinel beatdowns.
Mysterium Orb ramps a little here, but is mostly good for the overwhelm and endurance, and then another card draw trigger with Novaquake.
Tempered Sentinel and
Scourstone Sentinel are both surprisingly good. I tested
Crimson Firemaw as well, but ended up cutting it as it diluted the sentinel and explorer synergy. The main issue is the power requirements, which
Common Cause and
Trail Maker help with. Common Cause is absolutely an auto-include imo. You could try going in harder on early drop explorers, possibly, but drawing explorers instead of sentinels always feels a bit useless here (with the exception of spelunker, which is a decent body, ramps, and adds fodder for nova).
