After the recent
Kid, Grove's Heart nerf, I believe Praxis Aggro is no longer the only playable aggro deck in expedition. Having no success playing other decks and tired of dealing with FTP, I decided to try and discover the next best aggro deck available. That's how I came up with an idea of
Unseen Commando in the deck, and then intuitively
Hero of the People is an autoinclude.
We are running 38 units and the non-units are
Ignite,
Finest Hour and
Ossuar Longbow, which are probably too good to not play. By the way, it seems like that no one plays around
Finest Hour in J aggro, presumably because the supported J factions don't have good aggro decks and Finest Hour is not in draft.
In Rakano, the only 1 drop with 2+ Battle Skills is
Warrenborn Mistral, so for curve reasons we are forced to play another 1 drop which I believe has to be
Pyroknight. Nomad units are a huge plus to the deck because they naturally count as 2 Battle Skills on your turn already, and they give permanent Flying and Nomad to our Hero.
The other unit without 2 Battle Skills is
Calm Instructor, but it doesn't really matter because it usually recruits for a unit that has 2 Battle Skills.
The only other unit worth mentioning is
Skywing, Flying Free. It is very solidly statted if you can cast it, and the lifesteal is exceptional to any racing scenario, especially combined with
Finest Hour just wins every aggro matchup. Not to mention its additional synergy with
Hero of the People and
Calm Instructor.
Now to the decks weaknesses, because Rakano isn't a supported faction pair, the powerbase is worse than the other factions. However I still believe it is a decent aggro list and a valid alternative to Praxis Aggro.
