This is the deck that I've been kicking your ass with.
***UPDATE***
Swapped
Lipa, Witch of the Woods for
Kenna, Uncontained, who I moved into the market.
Blazing Salvo is out and
Howling Peak Smuggler is the main market access point now.
Maveloft Huntress is out and
Olos, Elder Ranger is in.
Hunt is too good of a mechanic not to be included in this deck.
This is the 3.5 version of my classic Skycrag Aggro deck. This time around it's all about getting in fast and hard while generating insane amounts of value. Every card in this deck does things besides just attack and the
Hunt mechanic makes it that much better.
Card Choices
Kennelmaster seems weak, but with all the spells that end up in the Void, our Pupper Lover starts gumming up the board with lots of doggos.
D'Angolo Houndmaster turns up the heat even higher when those dogs start swinging.
Lethrai Marauder helps fuel that fire, especially if you pitch a
Jekk's Takedown to it. She also generates value of her own.
League Explorer is insane! If you're on the play you can usually get 2-4 attacks with this gal, and the sea really does hold the key late in the game when you empty your hand.
Plunk Wumpkin is a safe turn two play that keeps filling your hand until you get your next big play or someone finally spends two spells to get rid of him. He can bait out removal early thanks to his
Aegis, which goes a long way to keeping your late game units safe.
Lipa, Witch of the Woods and
Olos, Elder Ranger not only
Hunt, but they also have great abilities which help late game when you're full of power and low on cards.
Jekk, Mercenary Hunter is such a good source of damage and card advantage that he's almost an auto include. Enemies have to deal with him or he runs away with the game. Speaking of which,
Champion of Fury Lethrai Soothsayer keep the game interesting by providing a
Torch's worth of damage by swinging or dropping
Premonition Bolts. The Soothsayer also has a decent rear end which makes her a serviceable blocker when needed.
Market
Bore is self explanatory
Edict of Linrei and
Edict of Shavka are the best removal.
Kenna, Uncontained is good for removal, a big body, and recursion.
Deep Freeze LOL. LMAO, EVEN
Notable Exclusions
Milos, Rebel Bomber did not make the cut. Since he was nerfed he just hasn't been as good and his damage isn't as reliable.
Battlefront Dasher takes up too much power when you want two to three units on the board by turn 3.
Acquisitive Crow isn't in this version because Skycrag has much better ways to draw cards now.
Kenna, Uncontained got moved to the Market because her 4 Primal was too much to hit reliably.
Strategy
Attack. Keep the pressure on. Choose units with
charge if you think you can empty your hand quickly and get in for plenty of damage before the enemy can respond and build a board. This deck eats combo decks alive.
Any starting hand with
Plunk Wumpkin,
League Explorer, and/or
Olos, Elder Ranger is an amazing start. Your opening should contain at least one of these or a
Champion of Fury. Use the
Lethrai Marauder for early removal and keep the pressure on until you draw into
Lipa, Witch of the Woods,
Lethrai Soothsayer, or
Jekk, Mercenary Hunter. They should close the game.
