How does this combo work?

Have or get Executioner onto the board during the enemy turn, then use Fair Exchange to get Kanya from your Market. This does somewhere between 35 and 0 damage to the opponent, depending.

I tried playing the other version of this deck a bit, and it seems to me that the only way to get Kanya out during the opponent's turn is to play Fair Exchange on Imperial Loyalist, since it's the only thing that costs 4, and this will always allow you to fetch Executioner, so what is the point of being able to play Executioner before that point?

With Executioner out, this version can play Fair Exchange on a merchant after reducing the cost of Kanya with Unexpected Arrival.
