Haunting Hero

I kept getting asked for this decklist while playing it on ladder so I decided to upload here.

This is still not optimized but many of the less than 4 slotted cards you would like to see 1 of but not more than 1 because their purpose is to augment the core of the deck. This is also why Strategize is a better card for this deck then wisdom, because card selection is more important than card advantage. Herald and Honor both let you discard things to reanimate. This is powerful with Gorgon Fanatic.

The core concept is to get a Hero of the Peoplein play that is buffed. Then you can recur it, or use the recursion on other creatures to get a hero buffs.

This deck has some obscene turns with 4 or 5 power available.

Gameplay tips: play Piercing Grief early as you can then use card draw effects to get it in play early. Having it in graveyard available to recur is very powerful with hero. A turn 2 Grief, into turn 3 draw effects that causes Grief to return and die will allow a turn 4 play of Hero + Dark Return targeting Grief...which automatically plays the grief due to destiny, drawing you a card and buffing hero.

Harsh rule is useful to play a longer game when the aggro gameplan is foiled.


The core of this deck (Dark Return, Haunting Scream, Hero of the People, Piercing Grief) is very cheap to craft. All of the rare or legendary cards are easily replaceable as are the 2 campaign cards this includes. This is very budget friendly and a great deck to play for a newer player who likes a bit of Aggro Combo gameplay.
