After trying many adaptations of a relics-based control deck, this is what I settled for. It is the deck I used to reach masters this month.
Explanation on some of the cards:
Edict of Kodosh This is the best cheap removal accessible as it targets a large portion of the meta.
Wisdom of the Elders is used instead of
Abyssal Scrying as it's a
safer option.
I initially had
Temporal Distortion but quickly realized that it was unnecessary.
I am still unsure if a third
Pit of Lenekta is warranted.
Market choices:
Bastion of the Dawn is strictly there for relic removal which is a big weakness of this deck.
I was initially playing 2-3
Disjunction but it felt dead way too often.
Duelist's Blade is probably what should be picked when unsure. It crucially provides aegis which you have no other way of getting. That is also a problem for this deck...
Grodov's Burden is the greedy option. I lost so many games initially picking it early in a game. It should never be your pick if you don't stand at 7+ power imo.
Sorcerer's Wand is the more versatile relic option. It provides draw or board stall and synergizes with
Perilous Research really well.
Finally, one thing I am a little bit unsure about is the power base as I am definitely not an expert deck crafter. I still think the deck is very decent against the current meta and enjoyable if you like control. Let me know if you have any comments.
