Information

I have been playing a good deal of dragons in Throne and Expedition and wow is it powerful. Eclipse Dragon was already an all-star in the last format and now the support team of Acedonis and Skylord Tolek make for an incredibly powerful suite of sweet dragons. Playing the full set of Xo gives us the card advantage and reliable casts of volatility to make the deck easily play the long game. Meanwhile Oni Dragonsmith can make for some unbeatable tempo plays if your influence lines up well. Let me know your thoughts on the deck and maybe take it for a spin if you have the chance.

I have been playing a budget vesrion of this deck, what are your thoughts on spellbound vestige? I feel like it supports display of menace much more, and is less likely to be removed in the early game.
EarthsOverseer Eternal Version: 1.50.8
If you are looking for a budget solution, vestige might just be what you are looking for! It does an okay job at turboing out your big dragons. The main reason I do not play it is that it does not kill your opponent quickly like dragonsmith does as well as making volatility unplayable while you have a vestige in play. If you take out the volatility and maybe add a few more spells, I could see it being very good in a spell based dragon deck.
Jitsu Eternal Version: 1.50.8
Thanks, what is the interaction with volatility though?
EarthsOverseer Eternal Version: 1.50.8
Vestige reduces the cost of dragons regardless of where they are located. Therefore, volatility will not draw any 5 cost dragons from your deck because they are now reduced to 4 cost.

Oooh, from the templating I thought it worked the same as dragonsmith. Thanks for the heads up! I have not spent the shiftstone for a volatility yet, I am using a Voprex's Choice in that slot. Even though it's not actually card advantage, re-buying my best dragon from the void has been enough for me most games.

I was also curious, does the deck not have trouble dealing with big units? It seems like you don't have any unconditional removal?
EarthsOverseer Eternal Version: 1.50.8
Dragonsmith actually has the same drawback as vestige, you will not want to cast volatility with the oni in play. Voprex's choice seems like a solid alternative.

When it comes to big units, you have access to the one annihilate in the market but otherwise are forced to rely on Acedonis ramping up a burn spell to kill big things. In the matchups where they have big stuff, you are typically hoping to fly over them, stall the ground with karvet, and trying to kill them before Kairos buries you. Tolek does an amazing job at killing those types of decks.

Thanks for your responses, I'll let you know when I put up some results with your deck.

It seems like Voprex's Choice is a popular one for the dragons. It looks like you picked Sear instead. What's the thinking there?
EarthsOverseer Eternal Version: 1.50.7
My thoughts are three-fold. An early spell that kills teacher of humilty, a damaging spell to ramp up using Acedonis, and a big part of the deck is having good spells between 1-3 to play well with Eclipse dragon. Voprex's choice does well at killing teacher but the slow speed prevents us from utilizing the power bonus from eclipse dragon, Do you think Voprex's choice is valuable in a way that would justify its inclusion?
Bloodystr1ker Eternal Version: 1.50.7
Midias....just saying. It helps with card advantage and he can ramp up damage super fast just playing troves..
djwarpt Eternal Version: 1.50.7
No, you're probably right, I was just experimenting with FPS Dragons in Expedition and had tried out a build without Acedonis. In the end, I don't think that build is very good, so I'm eager to try a more proactive approach. Being able to draw dragons from the void is cute, but much like Dakus, it feels like the payoff mostly isn't there.
EarthsOverseer Eternal Version: 1.50.7
At the current time Acedonis is just so powerful. I wouldn't recommend heading into expedition without the playsets of sear, acedonis and display of menace.
