Two notes before we go into the discussion:
1. This is not the final build of the deck
2. There is a reason I an eschewing conventional logic and playing more than 75 cards. It may not be correct, but we shall see
Now into the discussion
This deck came about because of a conversation I had with Noverb in the Peasant Eternal discord. We were talking about a 3f Hive Hexagon deck, and I was suggesting adding a 4th faction, for various reasons. We then run into the problem of what to cut, however.
That's pretty much where the conversation ended, but it got me thinking. One big trouble I've had when building my 4f control decks is what to leave out, since there are a lot of cards you really want to have access to. This isn't helped by the fact that you're playing two different tutors (the two displays) and want packages for both of them. I have found that you often need to play fewer tutor targets than you really want to because you just can't afford them. For example, I didn't play Counting Room in my most recent list because while it's occasionally very good it just isn't good enough against most of the format and if you draw it naturally you have a dead card against anything except Mandrakes.
So this is where the idea for playing more than the minimum number of cards comes from. What if you could play all the tutor targets you wanted and not have to draw them naturally? What if you didn't have to cut copies of cards you did want to draw to be able to fit cards you don't? This concept is largely taken from YuGiOh, where there were archetypes which required you to play certain cards but drawing then naturally could be competely game-losing.
And so this deck was born. At the moment, it's most definitely got too many cards in it still - working on mobile does not make it easy to decide what to cut. There are also cards that should almost certainly not be in the deck but are just pet cards, for example Vizier's Tablet. My guess for how many cards you're actually going to want is somewhere in the realm of 99-111, but I don't know where. Remember that for every two cards you cut you also cut one power.
A lot of the extra twos and ones are just extra copies of effects to maintain a rough ratio, but it should definitely be cleaned up still.
