Ever since I started playing with Kenna, Shaman of the Scale and End of Hostilities I just knew. This is the next big thing. On their own, Kenna, Shaman of the Scale and End of Hostilities are not very good cards. Kenna is basically a more expensive carnosaur that can’t even kill a titan unless you play another spell with it. End of Hostilities is a 6-cost copy effect, which is bad even before you realize it can’t copy an aegis unit unless you pop the aegis first. However, if you trigger tribute and combine both cards you get an infinite loop where you copy Kenna with End of Hostilities, then get back the End of Hostilities as well as another spell. Oh yeah, you can also copy a random Heart of the Vault or Icaria - that’s pretty strong too. Of course, control decks can just harsh rule our board, but we still get to keep our End of Hostilities for future use as well as another free spell. Midrange and aggro decks basically can’t beat the combo once you get it going. Of course, this all relies on triggering tribute - which is much easier said than done.

Currently we’re relying on combustion cell and grenadin tokens, but that forces you to play bad (anything that isn’t torch) fire cards in your deck, namely ~10 poopy grenadin cards. The issue is that we need a cheap and reliable way to activate tribute, and combustion cell seems to be the best option.

Enter Feln Cauldron! I know, the card looks like trash at first glance. But what it gives us is a reliable and repeatable tribute enabler. Know what else goes well with feln cauldron? You guessed it: Grasping at Shadows. Oh wait... Grasping at Shadows + Kenna? Get back the Grasping? Infinite value?

This is by no means a finished list, and I welcome any and all suggestions or critiques. The Scourge of Frosthomes may be too much, and I could certainly see one or two copies of Snowcrush Animist in the main deck instead. Not playing strategize feels super wrong, and I’m still not sure if we want Nightfall Observer (great card, but so vulnerable to torch and annihilate). The removal package also needs work, I kind of just threw in some cheap kill spells and called it a day. Lastly, there’s a prospective fire or justice splash - fire for the whole grenadin + combustion cell package, while justice gives us basically just a single card: End of the Story. Think about that for a bit, it’s a wrath that ignores aegis. Sit down Stand Together, the big boy are in town now. Time to go home and rethink your life stupid miracle berserk netdeckers. (no offence intended)

My in-game name is Erik9099, I’m 15th on ladder currently and usually vary around that level. My motto is to never play a mainstream deck, and in fact I often have too many ideas to test. I’m on vacation at the moment so I can’t test this list, but once I get back I’ll be playing around with tribute decks a TON. If you want tested and refined decklists, I’m not really the guy for you, but if you’re looking for cool ideas and super long write ups, I’m your man!

Hey Erik, really cool list. I saw you play it yesterday. I'm not sure if you have changed this list since you posted it here, but a few things stand out to me. First of all I think there is too much tapped mana in the powerbase. With only 3 basic sigils you have little hope of playing your seats untapped. I think you should cut the clan standards, and some amount of the waystones for more basic sigils. I also thing strategize is probably better than cull in general, and in this deck. Yes you did deeper with cull, but being able to put some fatties back when your hand is clunky seems very valuable. Lastly, why no hailstorm? I'm not super familiar with this archetype, so it may not be needed, but it seems like if you can weather the early game you can beat most value decks with the reanimator loop package, or just playing a scourge.

Regardless though, I really like the list, seems like a blast.

I've been playing a ton with dark kennadins, so I haven't really done a lot of tweaking to this deck. The powerbase definitely needs some work, though remember that vara's favor does sort of count as sigils for seat as well. You make a good point about strategize, but we're going to need a lot of units to discard for tribute, so I think extra fatties are still going to be useful. On the other hand, ditching extra combo pieces could be great. IDK. Lastly, hailstorm should be in here for sure.
