Equivocate is such a good card, I would consider finding room in the market for it, as it has a lot of success in other decks I have messed with lately. potentially replace the passage of eons with one.
Yeah, I've made some major changes to this after watching y0ttabyte play it on stream. The big ones were taking out avisaur and breeze dancer and putting in more removal and card draw. I definitely am now running an equivocate in the market.
The deck looks fun !
I'm just wondering if it could really handle aggro...
Usually crown decks needs time to let the engine come online, I think a way to buy time at early stage is a must.
I tested a very different list with a lot of fluff I wanted to add, the only opinion I have that remains is POTENTIALLY replacing Crimson Firemaw with Sandstorm Titan, there is a discussion to be had about which is better, but they have always been fighting for the same slot in decks that I build. I had more success with your list than the one I created. Although I would consider the merchants as flex slots to either be all white or all blue, if you go blue, I would like a Hailstorm in the market, or even your Thunderstrike Dragon, as they aren't much help early on, if you go Time, consider silence effects like purify, or the one that draws a card, (decks always need more card draw right?) As for the merchants themselves, the +1 power is probably more useful, but you also have trail maker that mana fixes as well, the 3/2 aegis is nice but dies to the Hailstorm I like in the market so much.
In theory, the red merchant may be the way to go, with Phoenix in the market, and one or two in the main, then you could set the rest of the deck up to be more defensive or more combo oriented. I always end up with a mess of Removal and draw spells in addition to Crowns, Dancers, and things I want abilities on, and the ratio becomes very muddled with all the things I want to do.
Yeah, my first build of this was FTS, with no crowns or avisaurs, but Quarry, HotV, Dark Return, Dawnwalker, and Xenan Cultist. This build is MUCH better. Once I accrue some shiftstone I'm going to craft the Fire Merchant and try a build with that. We'll see!
i have been wanting to make a worldpyre crown deck since the new stuff got released, One of my first ideas included putting him in the market and keep the red count down but I never made time to work harder on the deck. Have you considered Breeze Dancer? If you are keeping it budget that is fine, but she is a fun card to work with, especially with the Shaman that puts aegis on everything.
I don't have the shiftstone for Breeze Dancer, so I haven't crafted them yet, though it's on my very short list. I tried running more inspire units in the deck (particularly Living Example and that Shaman, individually) but there were lots of games where I just drew all of my inspire units and never found a Phoenix or a Dragon. I also don't have the red merchant yet (I have the other four), so once I craft those I might rework to have a Phoenix in the market.
It's not as consistent at the moment, but when it gets going, the Phoenixes are much harder to deal with. And getting destiny on a Phoenix is an insta-concede from the opponent.
