This is my take on Feln Grenadins.
We are basicly just running a pack of cheap Grenadin and hoping to ouvalue our oponnent with
Align the Tesseract or
Replication Cell. Alternativly the old Feln go to of
From Below works wonders as well.
To the list itself:
The Grenadin
The Baseline of the deck are of course the Grenadin themselves. Since there aren't that many Feln Grenadin our choice here is fairly limited, but here are some explanations:
Sparking Vermin is my one-drop of choice. He's a great target to sacrifice espacially into
Align the Tesseract, since the snipe allows you to instantly draw two cards, even though it won't get decay. For other one-drops I believe
Grenamender gets outclassed by
Medibot Station but the fact it costs one less to combo better with sacrifice effects might be worth it.
Razorbot is a serious consideration, as the deadly shuts down a lot of decks, but I have'nt yet found the space.
The two-drops are fairly straight-forward. We run
Rage Grafter for Market access and
Rotoscavenger for the sac-synergy, evem though we don't have that much, but it still feels worth it most of time.
Medibot Station is a better
Grenamender for this deck and the Mender is really important for stabilizing, as the 6 health you can get in total from the station is a lot. Lastly the most important two-drop is
Downdark Scrounger as our deck is based around damage dealing spells. He gets them back from the void and also improves them, which is incredibly important for
Razorblades since you get more
Razorbot and the amplify also scales with spell damage.
The three-drops are our last Grenadin.
Cyber Hound is a great card, since we have a Grenadin on the board for 90% of the game anyways and I would propably run the playset if I didn't have to craft them.
Blightpetal isn't doin much most of the time, since we dont have that great sacrifice engines in Feln and are also prone to having only up to 3 Grenadin out at once. But when you have enough power to sacrifice something and also use spells, this can just win some games. I would propably still switch this out for more
Cyber Hounds.
The spells:
Transpose is our basic primal Market access, which gets
Replication Cell as well as
Wasteland Broker to fetch
From Below. It also draws two cards when you have Tessaract out. I'm only running two because I ran out of slots in the deck, and needed more Grenadin than spells.
Vara's Favor does double duty as a source of power and a damage dealing spell, which can getreturned to hand as well as improved by
Downdark Scrounger to get more power or deal more damage.
Vicious Overgrowth and
Cyber Combustion are our removal options, with Overgrowth being able to kill
The Speaking Circle and Combustion just being premier AOE. Finally we have
Wisdom of the Elders because we a re a primal deck. Since we are not an aggro deck the card advantage is just too good to pass up.
The Finishers:
Align the Tesseract is just an amazing card if it gets to stick. So you can just sometimes ask your opponent if they can deal with a 12/12 on turn 4 or they just loose. However if they do manage to deal with it, it can be tough getting back into the game. Thats why
Sparking Vermin is such a great card with it, as you can instantly draw some cards with Tessaract unless your opponent counters the spell at which point you are just sad. The card is pretty clunky however so I wouldn't recommend running more than 3 or even reduce the amount to 2, since you can win the game suprisingly often without it.
Uxu, Carnivorous Bloom is basicly a fun card which I put in but it has performed suprisingly well as just a big thing with lots of usefull Keywords such as the very important lifesteal. Since you have a lot of expendable little machines Uxu can grow pretty fast and even with only a few upgrades it can pretty good.
The Market:
The Market is mainly an expansion on finishers, as the 4 cost awnsers aren't that powerfull.
Replication Cell is a really slow really powerfull card. If you hit Tessaract with it and don't die you can spam out 12/12s at will, but even just getting 2 Razorbots for 8 power can just completely shut down Sentinel and other Praxis decks. Even just getting Grenamenders with it can buy you a lot of time.
Wasteland Broker is mainly in here to combo with the old Feln-star of
From Below qhich can slo just win games if your opponent doesn't find a way around it.
Powerstone Compass is here mainly as a fun card which can work as a safer more lategame replacement to Tessaract. So you can draw cards with all your spells. It also enables
Razorblades to create more
Razorbots and is espacially fun if your return it with
Downdark Scrounger, since the spelldamage buff from Compass is permanent.
I have not yet pulled
Rindra, Infiltrator, so that one is a major question, and I would appreciate any ideas on switching him.
Matchups:
This works fairly well into most aggro matchups, since we have a lot of cheap cards and removal we can use to stop them. Sometimes you still just loose to aggro, because its aggro. Against other midrange or control decks its mainly a question of, can they kill us before we get our big finishers going, since very few decks can actually handle the
Replication Cell. Biggest problem are Praxis Big Stuff or Rolandt Controll decks, as we have trouble killing their stuff with our damage based removal, and they can just beat us down before we can get our own (very slow) engine rolling.
Anyways thanks for reading and any feedback is highly appreciated. Have fun if you want to try the deck.
