A fairly solid Stonescar dragon-centric pool. Went 6-4, 7-3, 9-1, and 8-2 each week, for a total record of 30-10.
Week 1 and 2, I was pretty solidly split between Fire, Time, and Shadow - I had two
Borderlands Lookouts, [/card]Kairos's Choice[/card],
Spiketail Qirin,
Champion Grappler, and
Grodov's Favored. All of them were solid cards... but what I didn't have was any fixing outside a few evangels. So, while I usually favor 3-color decks in league (especially once I have a solid amount of fixing), I ended up cutting the splash down in week 3 to just a few cards, and removing it entirely in the final week.
Part of the motivation was that in week 1, I was absolutely trounced by another Stonescar deck with 2x
Vile Collaborator, so I decided to give the card a second look. Glad I did, because giving lifesteal to large fliers is pretty insane - you don't actually need that many dragons in your deck for it to be worth running. I'm still not entirely sure that the flying-based strategy is superior to a ground-based strategy with Champion Grappler and Grodov's Favored as the topend, but the consistent powerbase definitely felt good.
Highlights:
Minotaur Lighthoof +
Argenport Ringmaster won two games in the last week, which was a blast. Other rares were also good -
Tota Colony won a lot of games, while
Livia, Hexweaver and
Fenris Nightshade were great for both gaining a bit of life and finding a way to spend it.
Lowlights: never got to attack with
Cruel Wyvarch. Opened it week 4, which is generally the worst week for expensive bombs.
