This deck revolves around the Katra + Razorquill + Stained Honor infinite combo in an evenhanded golem shell. With all three units on the board, you can activate razorquill an infinite amount of times until the opponent dies.
Reweave and Imperial Loyalist act as tools to play combo pieces from your deck, or can also be used to get more Evenhanded Golems for card draw. If you reweave a Loyalist, it allows you to play both a Katra (shifted) and a Stained Honor at once.
The 2x High Alert is a flex card that is currently in the deck to allow you to play a Katra or Razorquill off Loyalist, it can be swapped for Sword of Unity for aegis, or more removal (deathstrike would serve both purposes if you kill your own loyalist).
edits: changed out the 2x high alert for 2x more safe return, safe return plays extremely well with evenhanded golem and imperial loyalist to give you card draw, and worst case you can reweave out a razorquill and protect it or last chance it.
1x Trail Maker is to give you a target to reweave / activate Loyalist for if you are missing influence to play Katra.
edit: I won 11 in 20 games. But playing against non ladder decks.
Remembrance would be great but is 1 cost unfortunately.
Its performed fairly well in ~2-300 masters but definitely not a serious competitive deck. Its surprisingly consistent for having no merchants. Folding to aggro is its biggest problem.
Thanks!
Basically, you play a Stained Honor, Razorquill, and Katra on the board at the same time, and that lets you activate the razorquill an infinite amount of times, killing the opponent.
You want 3-4 power, preferably with 2 undepleted power and 2 crests to scout on the off-curve turns (1 and 3). Its less important to have the second crest if you have a devotee or golem to play on turn 2.
Probably the worst cards to keep in an opening hand would be Memory Dredger, High Alert, Safe Return, Last Chance.
I believe that you are using High Alert as a fast way to trigger Renown on Imperial Loyalist, so as to search for Katra, the Devoted or Razorquil. Besides that purpose, is it really that useful?
Would sacrificing the fast speed for something like Sword of Unity be worth it?
Alternatively, if you really want fast speed, would DeathStrike provide some flexibility? So you would only use it on loyalist if that would allow you to immediately combo off.
I was specifically impressed by going infinite with:
- 6 available power
- Imperial Loyalist in play
- Razorquill and Reweave in hand
Basically, playing Razorquill, then reweaving Loyalist to get the other two cards of the combo.
This way, I do not show any of the 3 combo pieces till the final turn.
There isn't a whole lot for self-targeting 4-cost spells in these colors, I've been using Sword of Unity a bit and do like it as well, the only downside is it isn't fast speed, but the aegis is definitely helpful. You can consider the High Alert's flex spots in this deck.
