Whenever I get a painting from courtier late-game, I want to puke! I will allow only a single copy, so you can highroll your opening hand. Otherwise, not a fan. Lifegain at the moment is not justifiable over undepleted power.

I am testing Okessa'a Audience, and it is quite solid. Plunder for turn1,2 to fix what needs fixing, but sometimes you cant guarantee the faction among all those dual-faction cards. Later you can get the sentinel if a threat is needed, or get a card in hand to discard. It is also 5 cost so fetchable with crack as well if sentinel ends up in market. Not to mention the combo of courtier fetching power when you play audience and then immediately make that into trove. That is just orgasmic!

Another relic I have in my list is Amber Lock, full playset. Cantripping cant be bad, right? Not sure how much it is contributing since the rat shell is already solid list, but at the moment is good since you want to find your pieces reliably. In cobmination with pitfall trap i think those two can dig really quick.

It really depends on the game state and what deck you think you are up against. Some day I will make a guide with examples to help some of the more complex decisions. Although Cryptic Master can be a big beat stick, it can be a bit awkward to trigger the onslaught which is often important to the deck's function.

It helps out against very aggressive decks like Yetis that play a lot of 1 health units. The other use is when you have multiple Crack the Earths in hand and you are low on cards in hand, allowing you to only lose 1 card with both Crack the Earths. It can also be useful for grabbing and looting away with Pitfall Trap.
