Winter Tomb is a tremendous add for aggro. It's a removal AND it deals ping damage. A couple errata: You can put another Winter Tomb on the same unit just for the extra ping damage. If the unit gets endurance, Tomb does not fall off like Permafrost does because Tomb's secondary effect is still active. In cases of temporary endurance like
Snoozing Sloth, the victim will once again become stunned when the endurance wears off. (Thanks to Challenger70 for testing this.) Winter's Tomb feels like a key card in this deck; our win rate when we draw it feels a LOT higher than when we don't.
I am aware that there's almost nothing to renown
Mischief Yeti or create night for
Starlight Guide. They're there for the stats on curve, and if you get text out of them it's just gravy.
Defy Authority edges out
Ignite because of its ability to go face. If opponent stabilizes with only a few points left, our face cards plus Tomb pings can get us over the finish line.
When sorting out your two-drops, play
Karrina, Hive Guardian strategically against possible
Heavy Hail. Against Feln, she is better to start with than your more vulnerable two-drops. Also, there's a lot of snowballs out there in Feln, so keep
Telia, Perfect Timing's two health in mind as well as you play out your early units.
Daring Pioneer might seem weaker than
Corrupted Riftborn, but it's better in this deck. It's a low spell environment, so sometimes she gets to swing, and that's huge, or she forces opponent to take a turn off to deal with her. Even if she folds to a Delivery, don't feel bad. She also has a chance to come down before
Heavy Hail or
Liquid Flame from the enemy can wreck you, where Riftborn would be too slow. It's much better to have
Ossuar Longbow as the only thing in the 4-slot, ready to remove and do a little overwhelm damage, much better tempo than Riftborn. Against Justice, it may be right to hold her back and play her on their
Save the Day turn. Only reason she's not a 4-of is two copies of her both get poofed by the same spell. Sad trombone. I have not tested
Beastly Disruption in her place. I think it would feel bad having to hold up the power and sometimes get nothing out of it, but if you want to test that and let me know how it went in the comments, I'd be eager to hear.
Mulligan: Obviously we'd love to have 1/2/3 or at least 1/2/2 curve out, we still have a shot if we start on 2. Four power hands don't play too well, but they're not guaranteed losers. If you're on the fence about a hand, the presence of Winter Tomb is a good tiebreaker.
