I know Clockroach are more commonly used with Crown of Possibilities (which works crazy well). However, I was trying to set up a cheap alternative. This deck has performed fairly well for me. And even does great without drawing any clockroaches at all.
I'm currently looking for suggestions on how to make it better. Any additions or removal advice would be much appreciated.
Severin, the Mad Mage and Glasshopper seem to be a really nice way to ramp more reliably. They are campaign cards too.
I kept my Xenan Obelisks because of the mad mage. It's just a split threat - creature removal is really common but I don't see attachment removal very often.
Of the inspire cards, I only kept Xenan Lifespeaker and Amaran Armadillo as the others have a few problems, mainly double influence and/or high power costs for dubious rewards. Most of their effects are about countering or combat advantage. To me, clockroach is the deck that needs countering, not the other way round.
I actually dropped Dark Return and Excavate. I feel like that's a different deck without primal, incl @Asymat's suggestion. I mainly play clockroach for the Crown of Possibilities lulz. If I were to keep one, it'd be excavate as you can use it in lieu of a counter when you're camping with Annihilate in the opponent's turn.
Anyway, I think clockroach is the only double influence card in my modified version. It's going well but my rank is super low so I'll have to see what happens later.
