I don't have a real write-up for this. I just tweaked
this list right here. Here's the changes I made, and why:
I agree with their stance that ramp needs to be good when you cast it on curve, or when you draw it late, which rules out most pieces that Praxis Ramp lists use. To that end, I really enjoy
Call for Aid. This card is great against Justice decks when you suspect a board clear is coming soon and want something proactive to do in the meantime. The deck also lacks a lot of ways to keep its hand size pre-Kairos, which can make using your Merchants trickier.
Saber-Tooth Prideleader is a card I put in basically every Time list I run, either in the Market, maindeck, or both. The reason for that is that it's just so damn flexible. Against Aggro decks, it gives some much needed life-gain as well as a surprise blocker to pick off attackers they'd have never attacked with if you had cast a Titan instead, for instance. And, virtually every other deck uses relics for
*some* purpose, be it incidental from
Teacher of Humility all the up to relic weapons like
Stormhalt Knife or
Sword of the Sky King. This card just does too much too efficiently to exclude from your lists that can play it reliably. If you want to cut it, at least keep 1x in the Market.
Maybe I'm a scrub, but putting 1x Banner in a market always feels like a wasted slot to me. Instead of cutting
Tocas, Waystone Harvester from the deck entirely, I moved him from the maindeck to a 1x in the Market, and cut the banner. Honestly, this is a super flex slot; every single other card was useful more often than he was. Cut it for something more situational, yet powerful.
Passage of Eons, perhaps?
I didn't like
Xo of the Endless Hoard. You so rarely get to attack with him, and the main value I get from him in decks is throwing him into/out of the market and just keeping the
Treasure Trove as free gravy. But, when you can't pull him back out, that gets diminished a lot for me. I reckon FJT decks will love casting and attacking with him, but I rarely attacked, and when I did, I never had the power to spend on his ult. I kept cutting copies of him, one by one, until he was gone.
Don't underestimate the value of
Infinite Hourglass. Its main purpose is to hard counter cards like
Permafrost and
Winter's Grasp, which it does very well, but the free endurance can allow you to attack and defend, which can give a huge edge in a race, especially if you cast a unit, give it killer, and then have it on defense to threaten another kill.
Xenan Initiation felt a bit weak. I rarely pulled it. Maybe it could come out, although I don't know what for. Killer is insane when it's good, but pretty meh when it isn't.
I'm genuinely confused now, lul.
tl;Dr - Edited original comment in fear you/someone else would think it was being mean and not for what it really was, and a praise post. T
Then they lived happily ever after...
The end!
Fortunately for me, I owned almost all these pieces, so crafting the rest hardly cost anything.
Maybe (assuming your SS cost wouldn't be too high) this is the one for you to try? Its original creator designed it to be as resilient to removal/bad draws as possible, and I did my best to improve upon that.
I'm just saying, the first time you cast Kairos into Teacher for a free Torch+Disciplinary Weights, you'll feel the arousal I did.
Excellent username btw.
Just a thought from my experience.
I would be interested in trying out Wasp in the market, if I were still grinding this list. Probably as a replacement for Initiation.
